No one is Going to take Rush`s crown, I was merely saying that in my opinion they were the nearest of the modern bands to play in the same genre and attempt similar levels of complexity albeit with five band members. There lies Rush`s genius, to make that music with just three people. I`ve seen both bands live many times and they are both amazing. I don't believe in rating music, its not a sport. If something makes you happy then its good.

Most of this album, "Images and Words" is gold. "Another Day" could have been a radio hit (but somehow wasn't), "Surrounded" has one of the best build ups and releases in all of music, and "Metropolis" is so good it got a whole album as its sequel. "Leaning to Live" is also great. Again, just... the whole album is gold. And the rest of their catalogue has gems like "Hollow years," "The Glass Prison," "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" (It's 40 minutes long; you probably don't want to do that monster here), "Home," "The Count of Tuscany," "Change of Seasons," "Mirror/Lie," and about half of the rest of their discography. So much great stuff.

This, all of this! We have a rule in my friends group, that when we are going on a road trip, we all get to pick songs, in a roundabout fashion, one at a time. When its my turn I usually break out the Dream Theater. On occasion, or a rather long trip, I will break out "A Change of Seasons." I have only had one complaint in 15 Years, and it was that a buddy of mine never got his turn. LOL.

Great pick and great reaction video. Dream Theater has so much more to offer. Might I suggest "Honor Thy Father?"

Thanks for the musical education. I am 60 years old and kind of stick to the old stuff so I don't get out musically speaking so it's nice to be able to find stuff I've never heard.

Oh, man, they have so many classic albums, a few with a decent number okay songs, and some utter crap. They're not the most consistent band, but when they hit high, you get glorious stuff like "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence," "Octavarium," "Lines in the Sand," or "The Glass Prison."

The Whole Dream Theater album Scenes from a Memory is one cool long story across the album with some great songs. I remember having to look up what it was all supposed to mean. Pretty cool

Early ninites I saw them in concert, and heard them. Heard them a lot. Loudest show I have ever been to, but incredible time.

One of my faves from this album and definitely my favourite to play live although as a single piece from a song it has to be the bass solo from Metropolis (The Miracle and the Sleeper) from the same album ...... it’s a killer and a real mind bender to play but when you are in the groove it’s got a feeling that’s like nothing else !!!! PLEASE do Metropolis as a reaction !! You will melt twice on that one !!!!

Man, DT used to be so much more alive when playing live back in the day! Way more energetic. Even John Myung is far from the stoic bassist he's become. And more than 25 years have passed, and I still miss Kevin...

Seeing these guys live really makes you appreciate what they actually do. They had big screens focused on the players and you could see the magic happen. The chemistry between Rudess on the keys and Petrucci on the strings... it was unbelievable. My friends and I kept looking at each other in disbelief. We witnessed greatness.

It's the end of the road with Dream Theater. There's technical, melodic, beast mode, all in one. Grunge HAD to come after this, there was nowhere left to go.
