While a lot of those videos were nice, many of them actually made no sense at all. The instructors were clearly confused and didn't have any clear idea about what they were doing and why.

bhai me mix me low frequency ko boost karta hu to vocal dab jate he or high frequency ko boost karta hu to vocal or baki high frequency kaano me chubhne lagte he kya Karna chahiye ?

Aisa koi rule nahi hain bhai . But aapko us singer ko sunna chahiye aur uske according mix karna chahiye . Of course highs se vocals upfront aa jayengi lekin shrill hone ke chances hain, aur lows se body badega lekin muddy hone ke chances hain. So ideally its the right balance that will make the vocals sound right, depending on the singer. Also, you cant forget, magic lies in the midrange 🌼. Best wishes

Sir jab mai FL studio me recording karta hu to vocals ka waveform bahut patla patla record hota hai, agar Mai interface se gain badha du to bhi utna fark nahi padta and full kar du to clip hone lagta hai Can you tell me how to fix this issue or you can make a video on how to record vocals in FL studio step by step

You are clearly not setting the levels correctly. Try setting the gain knob in the way that you get 50-70% signal with low noise floor . This will make sure you have enough headroom . Also, don’t go by visuals of the waveform, use meters to see the levels. Waveform sizes can be altered anytime without actually changing the signal levels .

You said instead of boosting with high shelf on 7K, cut with low shelf on 7K but both of them will have different impact on the audio, 1 is adding highs and 1 is reducing highs. So how come you say that both will give same results? Kindly clear this doubt.

High Shelf is an eq that lets you cut or boost the high frequencies . Low Shelf is an eq that lets you cut or boost the low frequencies . Adding 2db of gain with a high shelf is equivalent to reducing 2db with the low shelf . In both the cases , you are boosting the highs/cutting the lows . Best

@@DreamArtRecords but you said 7K so that’s where confusion was. Because we can’t apply low shelf on 7K to achieve the same thing as we want by applying high shelf on 7K. If you apply low shelf on 7K it’ll remove all the low frequencies. Kindly watch your video again. I think you made a mistake while explaining this in the video.

I am not sure how well you versed with the terms but yes 7k means 7000 hz and we can definitely put a low shelf on the same . Also, shelf is not a low cut/high pass that it will remove all the frequencies below it .

But you said instead of using high shelf on 7K, use low shelf on 7K and you’ll get same results with better headroom. How’s this possible? Low shelf and high shelf have different results. @@akg.69 I am still not sure, how versed you are with the eq. Do you mind elaborating why adding 2db with a high shelf at 7k will be much different than cutting 2db with a low shelf at 7k itself ?
