Every. Damn. Time. 😢😢 So much respect for Yoohyeon for being willing to share this with the world. We all know DC don't care about having that perfect idol image, but this is so personal. I'm a sceptic myself, but I had the opportunity to take part in a hypnosis show and it's a real thing. Just look how Yoohyeon is keeping her left arm perfectly still, even while she's bawling her eyes out.

I'm an empathetic crier as well, this is maybe the dozenth time I've watched this episode through reactions and I had tears rolling down my cheek the same way as when I first watched it on my own. It feels healing in a way, having Yoohyeon open herself up to us like that, it makes me feel as if I'm in a therapy session with her and reconciling with my own past trauma. It's this genuineness that is constantly displayed by Dreamcatcher that will have me as a fan of them for as long as possible, even if they eventually go their separate ways in the (hopefully distant) future. I'm more than well aware that the Kpop industry is built around trying to have fans form parasocial relationships with idols in order to empty their wallets for them, but after being in the scene for about 8 years and casually following hundreds of groups/artists in SK, something about Dreamcatcher and DCC is just different and I think it shows. I truly wish nothing but happiness and success for them.

Like you I was skeptical the first time I watched this. However, knowing how difficult it is for Yoohyeon to keep a straight face, when doing literally anything, I 100% believe she was really going through those emotions. While this is definitely a difficult watch, I think it speaks to the bond between the members of Dreamcatcher and the bond they have with their fans, that Yoohyeon allowed this to be shown. The emotion on the other members faces when Yoohyeon called for her dad and Jiu's look of pure heart break just reinforce that those women truly love and care for each other. It's awful that she had to go through that, and it is an emotional watch, but I see beauty in her choosing to share that vulnerability with the world.

When I first saw this it completely changed my perception of Yoohyeon and made me realize what a complex person she really is, and not just the clumsy goofball we see in the compilations. I also think that the emotion she puts into her singing comes from the scar on her heart. You've seen Secret Love Song so you know how good she is at putting emotional pain into her voice. None of the other members can put that much raw emotion into their voices. It's genuine and real, just like Dreamcatcher are genuine and real which makes them different than every other Kpop group out there. They never hide who they are behind a carefully crafted company image. In an industry where so much is fake, Dreamcatcher are the real deal.

I'm glad that the man derived from the goal of the session which was to look at past lives, and focused on her energy at that moment, which was directed towards the loss of her dad. I tear up everytime I watch this episode. Not only is it hard to see Yoohyeon cry and show such raw emotions but also the members as well, who are trying to hold in their tears. I'm sure in the years of working together, they must've had a lot of heart to heart confessions/moments. They seemed to know exactly her feelings and they teared up right away when she mentioned her dad at 12:50

The thing about hypnotism is that it has received this sort of parlor trick reputation thanks to people who use it for entertainment purposes. The core of hypnosis is that all it does is put you into a more suggestable state, but in order for it to work you have to let yourself focus on it working, rather than on why ot doesn't work for you. This is useful for hypnotherapy because it basically reduces your resistance towards accessing certain memories or expressing certain emotions. It is generally used as a last resort treatment however because, (like we see with Yoohyeon) it can often result in volitile emotions that could be better handled through cognitive behavioral therapy. It is fascinating stuff really.

Dreamcatcher keep it real more than most groups. Yoohyeon was brave to let this be shown. 😢

A good genuine reaction, thank you. Dreamcatcher has always been special to their company. I do not believe they would have ever allowed this to be shown if Yoohyeon had not fully agreed. They care too much about the members and that has been shown time and time again. The fact that pictures of her father were shown through this. Tells me they did have her approval, as I would guess she gave them some pictures of her dad to use. But, it was a very brave thing for Yoohyeon to do especially as it was so personal. It also highlighted how close the members are to each other. The group maybe 7 members but they are much more than just members. They are family.

The thing is, this was completely new information to the fandom as well. So this is how we learned of her father. Word of warning again if you react to the "Between Dreamcatcher and Me" interview series (21 video playlist on their official channel). Most of the video are 1 to 4 minutes or so. It can get emotional but one of Gahyeon's will really get you, so prepare.

Im not a believer in past lives but hypnosis is a state of mind, more than a paranormal thing (from what ive heard). Yoohyeon's hypnosis allowed her to get to the root of her grief with no filter and let her express it.

The courage that Yoohyeon shows here by allowing us to see this side of her is what made her my ult bias. And she's beautiful, and has one of the best voices... crap, I'm gushing. no matter how many times and how hard I've tried to not tearing up for this episode, the result is always failed. glad that she still can be perfectionist in a good way, even smile brightly, getting "smiley" as nickname from a kpop reactor (if not many). also glad that when she started as minx she was in DCC and DCC decided to keep the girls after the unsuccessful career. if she wasn't in DCC and got the worse company and decided to disband the group, imagine the layered of sadness that she got and probably something bad happened bcs of that, which I don't wanna explain that bcs I've reached the point of thinking that would happen to me

Yup. It's ok, Brother. I had the same reaction as well because she is always the cheerful goofball of the group and it's usually the funny goofy types that are always hiding the most severe of pain. She was brave enough to share this and we appreciate her more than ever and no matter what She's Yoohyeon, Singer, dancer, visual of Dreamcatcher and our clumsy, goofy, cheerful puppy.🐶

i’m covered in tears just like every single time this clip finds me.. it often appears on my tiktok timeline for some reason and it never fails to make me bawl. I love my dad more than anyone in the world, he’s my sun and i just can’t imagine dealing with that. It just wrench my heart to see Yoohyeon breaking down and missing her dad like that. I hope that session helped her a bit, at least say sorry as she apparently felt like she needed to say, and hug him, even mentally. 🤍
