The commentary there seeming to be that those things might be what is "expected" in a male dominated society, that's not why they are there.

Wife is about fucking. It is very difficult to translate, and what is very clear innuendo in korean might not translate very well in english. At least thats what my korean friends tell me. Just think of every single line being a double play on fucking, and the whole cooking a sea od double entendres. Not having sex, not sleeping together, not making love, not unitying two souls and bodies into one... NO. Fucking. The purely fun part of sex. The song essentially tells you that they might, being in a relationship and all, clean your room. But dont think they will be your traditional wife. They are women. They want fun. They are in a relationship. They are not your nanny, nor your mother, nor your cook. They are your gf, and they want to fuck. They, not you. The songs nuance also makes it very clear that this is their agency. They dont want to fuck to please their man: they want to fuck because they are horny. Cherry... cake... lips... swallowing... being full... touch of tongue... clean my body... Lets just say that, in korean, using korean context, those things come off a bit diferently. That "does your dad know that you are all grown up already?" hits it home for anybody who wasnt paying attention. So they also play with the idea of the traditional wife cooking for their man... but they dont mean cooking. Not really. It is a very clever play on the idea and the concept of a traditional wife role inversed trough the opposite, but it is very difficult to convey, and lyrics translation are not very good to beging with. Coco Loco, for example, is an alcoholic beberage made out of rum and coconut. So they are making a soup that tastes like a cocktail... Thats the song in a nutshell. Poisoning social expectations with subversive actions. Notice that they dont lypsynch until the end, until "i´ll make you high and feel like lie". Tey will just play the silent obedient wife on the surfcae, but beneath... Nah. The came to play, not to get played. Their dance speaks the truth for them. You room is going to twinke... but you better make them twinkle too because they are not your cleaner. It is a great reaction but, again, it is a bit of a shame that you didnt watch the two brief intro videos they shot for Wife and Superlady. Mostly because they are pretty short (barely 2 minutes together). I mean, one of the things that makes kpop stand out from most of the rest of the worlds music is its heavy reliance on concept. I am in for the music mostly too, but to ignore those carefully prepared shorts that sometimes contextualize the mvs and help tell a story is a bit of a choice. More so when reacting to somebody who si known in Korea as the concept queens. But otherwise, great as always.

When this came out I had flowering and blood red roses on literal repeat, but over time I think sunset has really been the stand out song for me. I think the instrumentals were really strong in this album for a "pop album". Soojin didn't have much, if any, to do with the production of the songs but she did hand pick the songs to fit the concept and story she wanted to tell, and I think she nailed it with the song choices tbh as they all feel very fitting for her, I'm normally much of a fan of externally produced songs without any input from the singer.
