My dad passed away this morning dreamkid. My mom and dad split when I was 6 months but he was still in my life a little bit. I am filled with so much guilt but the lyrics of this hit home so much, literally balling my eyes out and I’m flooded with all the good memories we had. Thank you for making music, you’re getting me through it whether u realize or not 😭

My Dad passed in March. My parents also split when I was 6. I feel this wholeheartedly. I played this track on some earbuds while I sat next to my Dad as he slipped to the next world. So sorry for your loss 💜

I’m so sorry about your dad. 🌺 I lost my dad three years ago. It was while I was dealing with grief from his passing that I turned to synthwave. I didn’t know the genre existed, I just stumbled upon it one day on YT. Nothing else captured well my memories of him from when I was a kid in the late ‘80s and ‘90s. I remembered all those trips to McDonalds, to the mall with the neon lights everywhere, to the video rental shops, etc. Allow yourself to cry and just let it all out. Things will get better. 🙏🌸
