Hey Chris, you might as well add a shed for lawn chairs, BBQ grills, and smokers while you are building now. If you rent the cabin out, those things will be an amenity the renters expect. Also, floatie toys for the pond and life jackets. A 30' x 40' shed is the size of a three-bedroom house. Those are going to be some very spacious cabins.

Well done digging as you go downhill. Some operators of mine had trouble maintaing grade for the trench bottom. I knew who they were and had them start digging at the low point.

This will be fascinating. -that's about the size of a fishing cabin (or possibly retirement home) that I want to build.

I'm excited for you. This is great. Also, they make a mini maneuver spreader. That would work on your tractor at the farm. It would work perfect stockpile. All the maneuver all went are long. Then in the Spring spread the manure on that field. And I guarantee you, it'll do what you want it to do I promise.

They make us tie that center row of piers in with the rest of the footing where I live. We used to do it like that but they stopped allowing it about 20 years ago; dang shrink swell soils all moving uneven and all.

After finals and c.o. issued and all permits closed you could dig a knuckle onto the pond and be where you want regarding setback, just call it a natural swimming pool. Ray

Congratulations, I know the great felling in starting a cabin build. Ours was several decades ago, same size but also several decades before I owned the mini excavator so all the holes for the sono tube footing piles were dug by hand .You have an awesome site for the cabin. Ours was in northern Alberta, nice site but further back from the lake.
