The Dremel GO-01 cordless screwdriver is the North American version of the popular Bosch GO. It's lightweight and compact, with a lot of power for its size. Perfect for keeping around the house for small projects and furniture assembly with easy USB charging.

I think this is a nice addition to the toolkit. for those small projects here and there I would defiantly prefer to use it especially on delicate work. I just bought the Bosch go.

This would be good for model making where you need to screw in medium to small screws and drill a small holes

Excellent review, as usual. For someone without a cordless drill, I'd recommend getting one before this tool, but I can see this being very useful and preferable for certain applications. The built in battery meter is a must for any cordless tool with an integrated battery, IMO, so good on Dremel for including that, but it would be so much more useful if it came with an extra removable battery. I Understand you can't have everything you want at this price point. Looks like a good tool for the price, all in all, and would probably serve a lot of people well.

I agree, and that's why I tried to present the differences between this and a drill because I figure the target market is a little split - the very basic DIYer/homeowner who is going to use this once every few months to tighten random screws and assemble furniture may be able to get away with just this, but if they're going to do much more a drill would be better. Then you have someone who already has a drill and is looking to add more versatility to their arsenal, and this is a great lightweight option for that too.

Black and Decker makes a version of this (and it's only $15). Hitachi makes a very nice 3.6 volt unit for $69.99, I use the Dewalt version which is 7.2v. I think the Dewalt cost me $89 back when I bought it 4-5 years ago. These are very handy for delicate assembly but I would definitely step up to something that has a positive bit lock and a removable battery.

@@DoresoomReviews I have the Makita DF012DSE 7.2V Lithium-Ion cordless screwdriver. It's twice as powerful as the leading competition, but along with that comes the price tag of $183 on Amazon. It is the best of the best in this catagory.

@@DoresoomReviews This is a very bad device, as bad as Bosh Go. 1. These tools do not have a bit fixed! 2. Also, both devices cannot quickly stop; they have a strong inertial rotation after a stop command for about 1 second, which often leads to a bit slipping out or damage to the material where the screw or a simple bolt is twisted. For electricians and furniture assemblers, this is definitely not suitable, well, except to turn it manually, so as not to damage anything and it doesn’t slip out of your hands, since it has a lot of power!

Great video! The only thing I don't like is you can't remove the battery. Of course it's done on purpose to only last a few years until you have to buy another one. I have noticed the last 10yrs. or so Manufacturer's of these small tools/items without removable batteries are Really making them so can't take them apart to do a DIY replacement of the batteries. So you take it apart & it's made to Not go back together again at all & all these small internal plastic clips fall out or just break apart.

I could not use this for my small projects - putting shelves and furniture together, etc. There is no low speed, and so I had to go get a regular screwdriver. I thought I was safe ordering this as I had a dremel that I charged years ago, and it worked great, had the low speed. I'm not sure what I'll be able to use this, if at all. Each time I use a driver I start slow and then increase the speed.

The battery gauge will have all three bars lit up if it's fully charged. It's a little nebulous between 66% and 100% though, with no real way to tell any more detail in that range.

Bosch owns Dremel and released their Bosch GO overseas first before rebranding it as Dremel and bringing it to North America.

I use this Bosch/Dremel Go screwdriver. Fast and powerful tool. But: 1. Torque is bad. Hard and not controlled. It turns around in our palm at the end of tightening the screw, therefore dangerous. 2. We can’t use this tool during tightening and removing small screws by pressing the tool to run. The act of pressing may be softer. 3. Drill bits get away after drilling and we are obliged to remove by our hands...

Torque is good; weak hand-strength is bad! I would never consider using this pocket screwdriver for drilling. I have an 18v Li-ion for that, and for even larger jobs I have a 1/2" chucked electric drill.

I purchased this Dremel and I have not had it longer than a couple of months and I am running into a problem. For some reason it is not turning with the bit in place. I press it down and nothing. It is fully charged.

If the forward/reverse switch is in the right position, then it sounds like it's broken. I'd contact Dremel since it should still be under warranty.

@@DoresoomReviews Yep, I have tried FWD and REVERSE positions and no go. Hoping they are good about returns. I NEVER chuck receipts or boxes but I cannot find them for the life of me lol!

I would like a Button to activate the rotation... Pressure to activate it can Damage plastic holes.

I agree, the push activation is pretty coarse. I'd prefer a gyroscopic twist activation myself.

only for medium screws. Bad idea for ikea. The electronic clutch is not working well. Always one turn and only then turns off. You can use setting "1" for medium screw, push - stop then push, push again until end.

I've used it with screws as small as 3/8" long #6 wood screws without issue, and found the electronic clutch to be repeatable. I've done two furniture assemblies so far without any problems. It's true if you push it repeatedly it will drive in a little farther until it recognizes the torque threshold, which a mechanical clutch won't do. However, using an electronic clutch let them make a shorter lighter driver. A lot of it is personal preference on clutch types.

Sorry for google English. The repeatability is really good. If after stopping accidentally press again, it will make one full revolution and only then controls the torque. When working with some materials, this turnover is enough to break the thread. For the assembly of furniture is suitable, and for the assembly of PC is so bad. This is a compact screwdriver, ideal if you need to disassemble wooden structures.

1:20 When the device is powered off, you can press the end and it will allow you to see the remaining charge without it spinning on your hand. And you can continue to hold it indefinitely

Why not make every dremal have this feature added, so stupid to buy another one just for that.. it should do all a drill can, tighten bolts etc

Because a Dremel rotary tool is super high RPM and low torque. This is 360 RPM. A rotary tool is 10,000-20,000 RPM.

When you pull out the drill bit, the tool has to be on/ must be turning. nobody pulls the bit like that.

Yes, for a normal drill you are correct. But with this driver, the only way to keep it rotating is forward axial pressure. It's impossible to pull a drill bit backwards out of the workpiece while pushing it forward to keep it rotating.

@@DoresoomReviews Which is why, I can only assume, the tool is a screwdriver and not a drill. Apparently, it's very hard to remove drill bits when you drive them with a hammer as well. Just because you can doesn't mean you should after all. That way lays stupidity. Comparing screwdrivers with drills, as pointless as comparing apples to oranges.

Dremel is a Bosch Go clone. Bosch bought Dremel back in 1993, so nothing new with this product it's for the US market. Specs for this product: 3.6 V - 1.5Ah Samsung Battery: INR 18650 - 15Q 1500 mAh - Lithium-ion inside. Battery temperature control sensor inside 360 RPM - no load speed 2.5 - 5 Nm variable torque Smart E- clutch stops when you want to stop Micro usb charging port Standart usb charger in box: 5V -1.0A or any usb charger with 5V - 2.0A will work as well. The electric screw driver is not meant for drilling that type of screw. It’s meant for driving screws like on locks and such. But I guess for showing off the strength its ok. Lets see another review of this drill being used appropriately.

It essentially IS the Bosch GO, since Bosch owns Dremel. For whatever reason they decided to release this tool under the Dremel brand in North America, and under Bosch elsewhere.
