Great variety! I have found when I look back at family wedding photos, the print dresses look dated. I always try to wear a solid colored dress for that reason.

If we're going back to more outdoor weddings this summer - My best friend's daughter got married in the middle of summer, over 100 degrees, high humidity, no breeze - outdoors in Oklahoma. Oppressive weather conditions. I knew I'd wilt and didn't want to be embarrassed by excess sweating (although most people in attendance were sweating like crazy). I took a very lightweight straw tote for a handbag and packed in a folding fan. In the tote, I also added 3 gel freezer packs that I kept in the freezer until walking out the door. During the ceremony, I kept the tote (with freezer packs) across my lap, which was very cooling, with my hands and wrists lying on top. I kept cool during the ceremony. During the reception, I used my folding fan and had others begging to borrow it. Gentle hint for those hosting outdoor weddings in excessive heat - offer guests iced drinks for sipping early on - even during the ceremony. Don't wait for the reception.

Great tips, Diana. I actually have a fan I meant to include in the video and forgot. 🤦🏼‍♀️But I really wish people who have outdoor weddings in the heat would also think to have misters surrounding the area if possible and would furnish guests with paper “funeral home” fans. 🤷🏼‍♀️

All beautiful dresses but my favourite is the first dress and all the accessories. I have the wedding of my nephew(hopefully) in the summer. Choosing a dress is going to be difficult as I am 4ft 11”, round as a ball with an apron tummy. Oh, and I’m nearly 65. 😒 Thanks for the inspiration. 👍😃

Love all the dresses, but have to say the tan block sandals look a wee bit too heavy with the first feminine dress, I would go for beige or pink strappy low heel sandals.

Beautiful choices...I especially love the more formal dress with the Navy underlay. Just stunning! I am one who does wear sheer panty hose and prefer that over my pasty white legs! I stay out of the sun now due to a basal cell issue, so hose just work for me. I was very much interested in your comment about the dress shrugs. I have lots of wraps and will be packing the shrugs away and subbing in my wraps. I do see what you mean about the overall look. So glad you mentioned that.

Beautiful video. Love the advice about dressing for a wedding. I purchased a dress for my son's wedding last year that I never got to wear. Fortunately they are able to have a vow renewal in May. Unfortunately my style has changed a little bit after following you all year. That is a good thing. I know it's about them and whatever I wear it won't matter because this sweet couple can finally have the day they planned.

Love dress #1. On the Talbots website the dress has a pink background. On KZfaq it looks white. It is a pretty dress and just right for an outdoor wedding I am going to in July.

I had a difficult time deciphering the shade of pink on the Talbot’s website vs the Talbot’s catalog, too; I ordered it and found the background pink to be a spring pink and too pale for me but otherwise likes the details.

Thanks, Kay. I thought your tips were spot on! I am going to my son's, 1950s theme wedding this summer. I found a beautiful, blush-pink dress at my Dillard's Clearance Store for ... wait for it ... $20!!! And a darling, little 50s-style handbag to go with for ... $25!!! Such a shopping victory. The catch is, I need to alter the dress, but if I can pull it off ... fabulous. BTW: this grandma does not go without hose. Don't want to frighten anyone. Carrying 6 babies have taken their toll on my legs. I find that wearing support hose with longer, below-the-knee dresses is a very pretty, classic look, provided they are worn with closed-toe-shoes as you mentioned. And ... an added plus, no need for Spanx, because the support hose have plenty of firming power. Haha. It's when women wear hose with above-the-knee styles that looks, sorry ladies, very tacky. Great tips!

I love all 4 dresses. I Have a navy blue floral dress I just bought for Easter and I love it! I would punch up the color in the shoes and wear matching colored shoes in navy or hot pink though. The looks are wonderful and you could wear them all spring long.

I love the straw handbag, chunky-heeled shoes, wrap, and shades that you put with the first dress, but the first dress is not my style. I like the beautiful fuchsia dress that you are wearing. I love the colors in the pretty dark blue wrap dress, and I would like it in a geometric or abstract pattern, or vertical stripes. I usually don't wear floral patterns; I look frumpy in florals. :-) 😊 I love the hoop earrings and Ted Baker bag! The third dress is fabulous and I love the colors! I love the navy wrap and clutch.

I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant too. But then I went for it and I’m so glad I did. The short part is right at knee length, so it’s not all that short. And I love the way it makes me feel. What are your thoughts, Kay, on wearing a black dress with a large, floral pattern down one side? It has a narrow, tan belt and a bateau neckline, with a slim silhouette. I love the dress but the main colour is black and I'm not sure if that is appropriate. The wedding I'd wear it to is next May, outdoors under a tent. Could I wear a light coloured shawl or throw with it (matching the coloured flowers) to make this work? I would welcome your advice. I love your videos and fashion advice. I've found it very helpful. You are so authentic and honest in your delivery.

Kay, So happy Rachel told me about your channel! We have 7 weddings in the next 5 months so this topic has been on my mind. So far, I'm going to stick with a favorite navy lace trumpet dress for the fanciest events. I'm hoping a navy linen dress can be made a bit fancier for the event I'm not sure will be air conditioned in August. I've had great success with open toe hosiery and encourage you to try them again; it requires the correct shoe/sandal to wear them but I agree with covering up the 50+ legs after having 7 children. My son is getting married in August at the Swan House in Atlanta. It is a very formal affair. The moms are wearing floor length dresses and I continue to scour the Internet for that perfect dress. However, each of these dresses would be perfect for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The Eliza J dress is gorgeous. I might have to order that one. I loved the embroidered dress but since I have hips, I doubt it would work. Thanks for sharing and I love the idea of a wrap instead of a shrug.

This video was perfect timing for me, as I have a wedding to attend in two weeks. Ordered the navy dress from Dillards! I live in south GA so we do not have access to Dept store shopping areas. Thank you for sharing this!! Can’t wait for it to arrive! Not sure if I will wear navy pumps or beige cork high heel sandals. I still ponder over the hose issue.

My youngest son is getting married in June in a garden style wedding. I am having a tough time finding a dress. I have one solid navy long dress as a back up. However, I would prefer a midi or maxi which is way more casual. I am not a fan of florials but prefer more contemporary prints so my search continues.

Pretty dresses...keep going, Kays. But yes, we prefer to wear gorgeous sarees. Dresses are usually for casual occasions. Great video, keep posting. You look lovely in each one of them.

I love all of them but especially the long sleeved floral. Gosh that one is pretty for a spring outdoor occasion! When you model it, the skirt shows beautifully! I may go ahead and buy that one for an upcoming May wedding. I’m nervous to order online not knowing how the brand fits me. I’m tallish and slim. Sometimes things are too loose on my upper body.
