Brook Lopez honestly would be THEE best mentor for this guy. If he could become a bargain bin version of what Lopez was last year then he would be arguably the best backup big in the entire league especially with his drive and competitiveness. Some fans who are confused on why Timme didn't get drafted are comparing him to Jokic (of Denver). The only real comparison that I see is their footwork around the basket, other than that, Jokic does everything else better. The NBA isn't the NCAA, they won't have to game plan for Timme. I believe this is right as rain. Timme is a huge defensive liability, and he's not even a true big man by NBA standards. He measured just 6'9" at the draft event. The draft isn't a comprehensive list of the talent that ends up in the league. I think it's likely he does at least end up in the G-League at a minimum or have some sort of agreement with a team that they will sign him to get him to a desired location. Notable names who were also undrafted: FVV, Reaves, Seth Curry, RoCo, GP2, Caruso, Kleber, Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, Luke Kornet, Udonis Haslem. He would have been perfect for the 2016, I think it was 2016, could have been a year before, Memphis grizzlies. Not many people remember that they were awesome that year and had Golden State down 2-1 and a game at home. This was the first year Golden State was any good. If Memphis had won that close game, It really could have changed NBA history. It would have shown the three-point shooting of the Golden State Warriors was not better than the traditional play that Memphis had, and may have altered how players played and teams drafted. The Golden State won a close series, 4-2, and everyone started throwing up threes after that. Traditional centers started becoming obsolete. Marc Gasoul was amazing, But losing that series doomed to future centers

Usually people emulate champions, so if the warriors don't win that, i have always wondered what would have happened with that style. Drew Timme is a Brad Miller-type, that has a knack for getting the ball and putting it in the basket, and for effort. Timme has better post moves, while Brad was a better shooter, and better defender than Timme. Tshibwe is the best college rebounder of his generation. But did he bring anything else to the table, a modern NBA requires? Sonogo, unfortunately, was an undersized 5.

He should play in Asia like Jimmer Fredette did. With his size, scoring ability, and high basketball IQ he would be a star in Asia.

NBA drafts on potential. What, do they have a crystal ball? The real reason is they saw Adam Morrison part II staring them in the face. Yup, another Gonzaga great and one of the biggest busts in history. I think all the guys you mentioned could have solid journeyman careers in the league or overseas, with Oscar needing the most work. Hope he finds a home and takes this wakeup call seriously. He was a BEAST at WVU. Timme has pretty quick feet on the offensive side, not so much on D.

Agree 100%. The NBA is no longer a big man's league, which makes the Wolves trading a king's ransom for Rudy Gobert completely inexcusable.

Drew is a great player under the net in the paint. He suffered from lack of 3 point shooting. If he fixes that problem he'll remain grest.

I might have picked him with one of the final few picks in the 2nd round or as a free agent. He can score and rebound. Plus he has height which helps him on the defensive side of thing. He is not an NBA starter and not a regular 6th man either. He is situational player off the bench. Also there are guys in the NBA that are worse than him. As an undrafted free agent he is better than some of the other backup players in the NBA.

College basketball has little to do with NBA preparedness. Teams are drafting 19yr olds so they can develop them from scratch and not have to undo NCAA teaching. How many division w 1 schools turn out game ready upperclassmen? Villanova? Wichita State?

These three guys did nothing special during their college careers. When you are 7' tall, you will not always play against equal or better talent every night because we just don't have quality bigmen in NCAA. The all fit the mold of Alex Len, Frank Kaminsky, Jahil Okofar, Jakob Poeltl who dominate college mostly because of the system and bombed out in the NBA. The NBA wants players with a skill that will make up for their weakness either on offense or defense. If 58 GMS followed you closely through out they year and passed on you, you just don't got it.
