I'm 65. Psoriatic Arthritis has taken my hands. They've amputated my toes. I rode this chair for ten years and the VA had me on 27 pills a day. Then I saw your channel. I got the Medical Marijuana Card and on May 8th I flushed the pharmaceuticals. 4 days of HARD withdrawal followed by a week or two of lighter withdrawal but today I'm 80 pounds lighter (40 more to go), I've been walking since June, we've sold our house, we're moving Friday and next week, the Good Lord willing, I'm going fishing. I want a Kayak so I'll need fresh inspiration soon! HA! My wife wouldn't let me near one. Great Series! Great Channel! Can't wait for more! Thank you, Sir!

I was falling down in the stream - a lot - that green stuff growing on the stones was sooooo slippery. I finally bought a pair of felt soled wading boots. What a difference! (I always clean them after fishing) Then I bought another pair with screw in spikes for those areas that prohibit felt. I don't fall down anymore! 👍

Stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago and I have watched every new video since. I appreciate that you don’t narrate while you fish. You let the scenery and fishing stand in its own, and then do a debrief at the end. I wish others followed this format. Looking forward to your next adventure. I live in Indiana and got to experience trout fishing in Colorado this summer, and now day dream of a multiple week self adventure like this.

Great to see your "outfit"...have used years to get mine working "optimally" as well. So have boxes in the car as well and basically just have gear that has proven its worth. Life is too short for gear, that doesn't work when you are miles away. (i.e. have had wading shoes, where the sole came loose when the fish were biting...never again) Thx Torben

Excellent video drew. I agree with you, when you do remote trips, even a day trip,you better be prepared, you never know what might happen. I've been fortunate enough not to be in a bad situation, but if I did, I am equipped enough to handle it. I hope. I have one question. If nature calls you don't carry squeezable charmin? Hahaha lol. I carry a trowel to dig deep holes. Saved me several times, if you know what I mean. Lol. Until next time. 🤣👍👍

The mountain house granola is a good idea. I just did the same thing on a small creek I fish and it was a perfect cold meal on a hot day. I just switched to a Marsupial Gear chest pack and am now missing all my storage options I had with my Fish Pond backpack. I want to be able to use the chest pack alone on short trips I know what I am going to need. But I have been looking for a inexpensive backpack to go with it. The Orvis pack looks nice just more than I want to spend.

Look into the Salomon Quest 4D. Best hiking boots I've ever used! Tons of traction, amazing comfort etc

I just stumbled onto your web and fully enjoy the calm and peace with which you function through your time outdoors! The pure joy can be seen in the expressions on your face as you walk! I'm recently retired and teaching myself how to fly fish...amusing to some that may be watching, but I have a great time just being there on the water...! I'm curious how you are able to fish so many states in a two month period without spending a fortune on out of state license's? Is there a federal license that might cover multiple states or some other way? Or is it just like when someone takes a one time trip to Alaska and spends the nickels for the opportunity? Appreciate any insight you might offer!!

The thing that takes up the most room in my pack is the rain jacket lol. Only pulled it out twice in the last two summers. But boy I was glad I had lol.

I know you’re pretty frugal when it comes to supplies I think you should look at this fishing line fluorocarbon it’s called P line you can use it for Tippett and you can save a absolute ton of money instead of buying Orvis fluorocarbon!!! A lot of overlap with what’s in my bag. One first aid thing I’ve learned to take is super glue. I and others have had injuries that really needed stitches, but I’m not going to do that in the field. Tippet rings are a must for me as well. I never have to “rebuild” my leaders, just tie on new tippet.

Never forget to keep bear spray at the ready whenever in a remote wilderness area. You never know when you'll need it. There's nothing more heart pounding than seeing a wild 300 pound black bear swim across a river toward your side, and then disappear crashing into the woods just 20 feet away. It was quit a sight to see that I'll never forget.

So do you fish all day with that weight on your back. I switched to Orvis ultralight vest, to lighten the load. When I fish away from car, I use a waterproof drift backpack when I hike back, but I dump it on the bank when I am fishing. I like your setup.
