The Dr. Gundry Podcast

The Dr. Gundry Podcast

5 жыл бұрын

As many of you already know, Steven Gundry MD has a reputation for maintaining healthy skepticism. If you’ve been watching the videos on this channel, you may have seen him debunking certain health myths and fads, from the carnivore diet or wheatgrass shots.
But just because it’s a fad, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily bad. And, in the case of bone broth, it certainly combines some contradictory (you might even say “paradoxical” elements) for followers of the Plant Paradox. The first hint is in the name… bone broth, after all, is based in animal protein, which should be approached with caution. However, there are some pretty amazing claims (i.e. it helps heal leaky gut, boosts the immune system and even reduces cellulite??).
But, could all these claims be true, or have they been overhyped by marketing companies? Let’s find out! In this video, Steven Gundry MD evaluates the major health claims associated with this alleged superfood. So whether you’ve recently considered jumping on the bone broth bandwagon, or even if it’s already a staple in your diet, it never hurts to see the bigger picture.

Dearest Dr. Gundry... Thank you!!!!... For just "being there"... with your knowledge... With your "top of the line" podcasts... Your wonderful recipes... I drink every single one of your words and spread your good news to all the people I care about!!!... Bought two of your PLANT PARADOX Cookbooks, and, gifted them as Christmas presents... They were a hit!!!... What I have learned from you has been invaluable!!!... You made this... sort of, cloudy... murky... mysterious "gut thing", VERY accessible... un-complicated... un-intimidated!!!... And, with a very precise and very clear sense of direction to the reader!!!... Your style, and, YOU, are great communicators... BUT!!!!... MOST OF ALL... I like your SCIENCE behind it all!!!!... Wishing you, always, much success!!!!... Looking forward to your next WORK OF ART!!!!... Ana, from Texas

Suppressing mTOR and IGF-1 all the time isn't optimal because of decreased muscle mass and impaired glucose control. You don't want to keep it low chronically. Pulsatile and cyclical way of going about it is key

Thanks for your measured approach to this science Dr. Gundry. I am always interested in the latest discussions and science about healthy eating. I used bone broth for about 3 months and didn't notice any improvements so this video was quite timely. I have also done a little keto and modified it with much more vegetables trying to find the best mix for me.

Dear DR Gundry, After many years of weird stomach issues loose bowel movements ad all the symptoms of what people and doctors call IBS I accidentally stumbled onto to one of your talks on plant lectins.Iv'e tried everything from prolonged water fasts ,juice fasts, vegetarian and vegan diets and eating only fruit with varying degrees of symptom alleviation and each of these regimes has a lot to recommend in terms of health benefits, however for me any slight deviation from most all of the above diets soon exacerbated my symptoms and in some cases I was worse off than before. So I decided to give your lectin free plan a go and bought all the items on the yes list and got rid of everything else....especially dairy sugar and all grains except millet. Not only have I completely recovered it all happened in no more than a week or maybe 10 days truly remarkable ,so easy to do and I feel absolutely great... a heartfelt thank you and a big hug I'll stay with this because I can and you made it all possible I really can't thank you enough and hope that everyone in the medical world especially gives you their support and a big award Peter Cunningham

I would be interested on your thoughts then on collagen as a supplement? This is anecdotal evidence but I healed 2 x torn labrum with collagen powder, after months of taking MSM & chondroitin to no affect, my joints cluncked when I walked from hip dysplasia as well. Within weeks I was walking with gliding joints & have not looked back.

I am 73 and have terrible arthritis.....I have been taking collagen for a couple of years and it really seems to make my skin and hair look better. Now I'm begining to wonder if it might be contributing to my arthritis. I eat a really healthy diet with pretty much no lectins because I have thyroid disease, arthritis, gut issues (celiac) and fatigue. Is it possible the collagen is doing more harm than good? My skin looks great since taking it. I also have been diagnosed with histamine intolerance.

THANK YOU for this informative video. A few weeks ago I decided to stop consuming my organic homemade bone broth that I have been consuming for nearly 3 years daily. I was having some of the side effects that I have read about, glutamine related. I will be adding it back into my diet, but only occasionally as in chicken soup. Your knowledge came to me at a perfect time. A lot of information on pros and cons on the internet and yes we have to be careful in who we choose to believe. Right now I choose YOU and what MY body is telling me. THANK YOU again.

I eat 1 pound of grass fed ground beef, 90/10 a day, with 2 cups of mushrooms minimum, 1 onion, 1.5 red bell pepper, tons of garlic and EVOO. Cuccumbers, and salads for dinner. Should i switch to Ground turkey? I body build and beef seems to have given me the best results over 20 years of lifting and cardio.

I listen to Dr. Gundry's videos and podcasts. He mentioned Japanese porc bonebroth which caught my attention. Please be careful, the porc bone broth is called "TonKOtsu (ton =porc, kotsu=Bone) in Japanese, but there is another Japanese dish which is called "TonKAtsu (katsu = bread crumb coated deep fried) which is a porc cutlet. 2 things completely different. When he pronunced it, I heard the latter.
