Drift Fishing for Crappie with a FLOATING Jig (30 Day Challenge ep.10)

The simplest method to fishing in a boat is drift fishing. Today I use a floating jig tipped with a live minnow to catch crappie suspended over 19-22ft of water. This is weighted by a bullet weight and swivel attached to the main line.

When using a floating jig head behind/above a sinker, I always make sure to hook the minnow from the top of the head towards the lower jaw. That way the minnow is upright as I drift, since the sinker is holding the eye of the jig DOWNWARDS towards the sinker. BUT it clearly works either way.

I did use a floating jig head last weekend fishing from the bank. I did the same setup and casted and let it sit until a crappie hit it. I would give it a light tug now and then

Davis windy is good for covering water usually 20 mph for big fish you have to cover more water you're making it to complicated the big fish aren't there with water temperature like that y do u think you have to fish in middle of lake for shorts wen u can get biguns in 12 ft.Rigs inconsistent with depth and wind.Thats not drift fishing that's holding 1 rod out of boat
