Drill press STAND with COOLANT SYSTEM

After a long time eventually, I bought drilling/milling machine. It is a simple construction but I think that it will satisfy my needs.
The machine is very heavy that's why I used the thick materials to make the whole strong and stable. Thanks to the extendible wheels the construction is mobile what is very helpful with such a large weight.
I struggled to make the cooling system as simple as possible. Most stuff is available online so everyone has the opportunity to make it at their workshop.
The tools I use in this video:
Self made:
Belt grinder 2x48 - • DIY Belt Grinder 2x48"...
Vise - • Super Strong Hydraulic...
and
Welder IDEAL Tecnomig 200GD
Plasma cutter Magnum CUT45
Drill press ZX7016

Pomysł z szafką 10/10, a system podnoszenia i przemieszczania stołu miazga. No i niech zośka służy.

Wait, this NOT OK! The machine is GREEN 😱😜 Seriously, once again, superb design and build quality. Two things I may do differently copying this: put the drill press on thin foots to let coolant flow under it, and have a second switch to enable/disable coolant. Thanks for sharing, your one of my best inspiration provider 🙏

Excellent build! However, I would strongly recommend connecting the earth lead to the table. If the circuit fails for some reason you'd be standing with a metal table full of fluid which is set on voltage. Not the best option for surviving the day. Btw..a small plastic bucket with some tiny holes at the bottom circumference is an excellent chip catcher. Chips from the drill will get flushed right into it and the magnet beneath will ensure they stay in there. The fluid will drain into the coolant tank again.

Awesome job, just a couple ideas if you lift the drill up to leave some clearance under you will be able to clear the chips without having to unbolt it and a fine mesh over the drain hole and the hose won’t get clogged

A slight suggestion for the coolant tank setup Add a 2nd tank inline and your pump will last much longer if you intent to have longterm use of it the 1st receives the used coolant and any swarf will settle in that tank have a takeoff in the top 1/2 of that tank that goes to tank 2 Tank 2 can now be safely assumed clear of swarf and the pump will last many years thanks to it

Very neat, gonna save plenty of time grinding drills. Maybe dont mix as much water with coolant, drills like lubrication a lot
@bengrogan9710
@bengrogan9710 5 жыл бұрын
the coolant is designed to be used at a light ratio of around 15 parts water to 1 part concentrate for drilling or 30 parts water if used for direct feed on a grinder - the white colour tells you he has it roughly correct If the mix is too heavy then it will look yellowed and will separate in the coolant tank and the water underneath will then stagnate overtime
