I like how you relate it to playing notes on a guitar. The notes can be played but unless they are really held properly with timing it will never be clean or be abled to be played blindfolded. The " feel " of it. Liked

Sifu Chan, while doing lob sao i notice you keep your thumb wrapped around the guy's wrist. Would you advice to do it this way or keep the thumb closer to your hand (so he won't be able to twist your thumb when abruptly pulling his arm). Greetings from The Netherlands (student from Wing Chun Federatie)

Finally, a real wing chun fight analysis. No juggling but the combative element in a real situation where the opponent will not be passive but will attack you all the time, the jeet kune do punch is more effective than the wing chun rotary punch. Very good video, keep it up.

@@giovannisoave9634 For combat sports, this works. In the field, it does not. Building attributes is more important for readiness in the vast sea of unknown we call real life. In a boxing ring where we know what to expect and fights are made up of the same general events and behaviors, sparring is a very good tool to teach. However the best sport fighters also train attributes, even though the emphasis is on training for a single measurable situation, hence emphasis on 'train like you fight'. In reality, in violent and unstable living situations, without reliable infrastructure, and a need to be able to defend yourself and your family in any time and any place, you cannot expect training situationally to teach you sufficiently, sparring should be one tool to learn and prepare in a huge collection of training methods. It would be unreasonable to spar and expect that to teach you to survive any number of immeasurable and unexpected encounters. Please take time to realize this isn't for a ring fight or combat sport, this is for life and death in the best and worst situations life can throw at you. Hence the emphasis on training attributes, so your body knows how to react no matter what your mind may expect, or not expect. Ultimately, expect nothing, a lesson that both sport fighters and martial artist can learn deeply from.

@@hanumananky Critiques seem to come from people with that combat sports mindset... as if life is like a MMA cage. Sensitivity and situational awareness is more practical exercise than "does it work in MMA"

Don't seeks fights, its not good. Martial arts is about preventing violence, not seeking or escalating it. This is the first and most important lesson when studying the principles behind interpersonal conflict. A decent man does not relish in the pain and suffering of others, those who oppose him are not demons, but humans like himself, he does not wish them personal harm, and will use violence in only the most dire and necessary situations and with the utmost restraint. He enters battle as if he is attending a funeral, with sorrow, and great compassion. His highest value is peace, and if the peace has been shattered, how can he be content. For sport, fighting can be fun, but you will not fight with wing chun or other martial arts with technique meant for killing with great efficiency. This is why we do not fight. You can borrow ideas from these schools, but do not measure them like a combat sport. Gungfu is first about mastering self with great time and effort, then by default you can handle any soul who has not mastered themselves. It is not always with violence that conflict is resolved. All things are available to those who pay attention to their surroundings and do not get stuck on any one thing, idea, or concept. Just pay attention to the present moment, and do not worry or overthink about others and what they do or how they do it, listen to your feelings and respond with great care, and all things will be well with you.
