Finding the connected balls confuses me, how do I determine which balls are connected?

I can't say enough good things about Tor's videos and booklets that accompany the videos. This set of videos has a tremendous amount of information. The instructions on how to recover the cue ball when you get out of position was worth the purchase price alone. The quality of these videos is exceptional. Anyone trying to improve their game will not be disappointed. Great job Tor!

At 11:10 I feel like the more natural way would be stop the 3, center ball stun the 7 or roll it, straight in 6 then straight in 4 makes getting on the 8 much more natural. A lot of people will struggle with that bottom right off the 7 down to the 8.

21:04 Wouldn't it be better to use the 7 as the key ball. Roll the one into the side then shooting 5-6-2-7 controlling, the first follow shot becomes simpler and so do the last 2 shots this way. Please correct me if I am wrong, I mean no disrespect and have learned a lot from this video.

I have a question about the pattern starting at 12:05. I would normally play this pattern by playing the 6 in the bottom right corner and draw back a few inches or so, then play the 4 in the top side pocket with low to play the 1 in the top left corner with follow and then the 5 in the bottom left and the cue ball naturally follows a path to get you on the 8ball. It seems like the 5 is a good last ball because there is a ton of room for error. You can shoot it way too hard and still land it. Can you tell me why that is wrong? Thank you. I love your videos.
@ZeroXBilliards
@ZeroXBilliards 4 жыл бұрын
That's also a good pattern. A few of the patterns in this video have more than one good repeatable pattern. In this pattern playing the 6 first also works.

@@ZeroXBilliards thank you for the clarification. It would certainly be nice to have someone like you local to me. All we have here in Maryland where I'm at is APA pool league. Don't get me wrong, I don't play bad. I'm a 9 in 9ball which is the highest but I want to get to that next level and there just isn't really anyone around here that can help with that. Mike Sigel and Karen Corr were house pros at a place near me but very pricey and don't get near as much out of it as with your videos. Thanks again.

What does it mean when two or more balls are "connected"?
@ZeroXBilliards
@ZeroXBilliards 4 жыл бұрын
It's when you can pocket a ball with a stop shot (or minimal cue ball movement) and you'll have position on your next ball.
@patrickcampbell5009

what if I come up w/ a different pattern that works
@ZeroXBilliards
@ZeroXBilliards 4 жыл бұрын
That's great. The main thing is that it's a pattern that is repeatable and doesn't require perfect speed control for one or more balls. If you can repeat this pattern on your own table with similar cue ball position results for each ball then it is a good pattern.

It will become more lucrative to help masses of people accumulate knowledge to go from intermediate to semi-expert , rather than compete for a few grand here and there minus travel expense and entries, against world class champions. Only a handful of very good players actually make a decent living at it.

@@gambloduck6633 also theres a lot of amazing players as well at all these tournaments so your chances of winning and making a living are slim to non as well as you cant win every tournaments.. some pros win one championship ever and thats it they never win again some never win at all and make most there money on side action. Some win then dont win for many years so honestly hes doing more good for the sport as an instructor then as a professional player i appreciate all of tor lowrys content it all makes sense.. now if i could only get a one on one 14 day training session id be super happy..
