I like this idea, I’m going to give it an honest effort. I’ve always aimed combos contact point to contact point, but when I get down to shoot my muscle memory is very powerful in trying to make me shoot the first ball toward the hole. It’s difficult for me to even step into the shot along the combo line. Often I miss even relatively easy combos because of this. Hopefully the spot on the rail will give me a more defined target, and help change my perspective on these shots. Thanks.

Wow! So much easier! This has been a weakness of mine for a long time. I never realized how to get good shape after a combo, so I would just avoid them if I didn't have natural shape for the next ball. Thanks!

Tor Lowry have you ever out together practice session plans? There are so many things to practice and it’s hard to develop plans that have a purpose and are progressional. There are drills galore for sure. But I suggest there is utility to having a variety of practice plans. Just a thought.

I lay out a plan for training in Secrets 3. It's the same training my 14 Days participants go through. Stroke drills, ball pocketing drills, half table pattern play with center ball positioning. I may put together a kit at some point.

Tor Lowry thank you for the feedback. I’m a partial paraplegic that tries to play this game with limited balance. I do okay but am trying to do better. Your resources are excellent. When I coached ice hockey I always put together a separate daily plan that was part of a revolving and progressional practice scheme and I’ve always been searching for, say, a one month practice planner for billiards. I always placed great emphasis on fundamentals then blended in tactics and strategy to complement skills. There is such a large number of things to work on in billiards though and I thought a practice planner type of platform would be beneficial to have.

When setting up the combination line, while you have the ball you're using to kick the object ball, your just lining up the kick ball against the rail? I'm confused.

Why aiming at rail instead of contact points? And any technique for judging gearing English to make off point combos?

Either method will work, it's up to the player which one is easier to work with. When using english with combos you can use the same method as outlined in the video but you have to allow for throw from the spin. Because of all the variables involved (amount of spin, speed, angle of cue, type of shaft, etc.) this is a shot that takes experience.

I've always shot combinations and pretended the second ball was the pocket. It seems to have worked well for me over the years.
