This is similar to my home-made preworkout: 2 rice cakes, each with a pinch of salt and honey. Its the perfect combination of slow carbs (from rice cake) and fast carbs (sugar from honey) and salt for a pump. I would actually do the reverse, as malto dextrin got a very fast clearance and digestion speed while honey is much slower since some got to be worked by the liver first.

If you really want to up your micros for this, consider Celtic grey salt. That stuff is great. Or just dump some LMNT in there and get your magnesium and potassium as well. In general, salt + honey + lemon is a banger. As a child I would always get that heated up when I was sick and it worked a charm, too.
@Hersovyac
@Hersovyac 7 ай бұрын
Same bro ! And I agree for the celtic salt it's just not that easy to get worldwilde so I prefered to talk about Himalayan salt, much more advertised but you are spot on
@catmansion
@catmansion 7 ай бұрын
@@Hersovyac 👏Yeah, I wish the Celtic stuff was more accessible (and less expensive, yeesh!). Mentioning the Himalayan salt difficulty was a good call. It's easy to get faked out (same with the honey, sadly...) I'm personally a little bit suspicious of the iodized salt (I vaguely recall that the stuff they tend to put in it is not the most friendly form of iodine) and in a salt taste test I did with some clients it took last place *hard* (they wouldn't even touch it because of the smell, haha). Getting iodine from seaweed or liver is probably a better call but if that's really the only salt source you have access to, it'll do.

Merci pour ta vidéo Herso 🙏 Est ce que ce n'est pas plus optimal de prendre des glucides rapides type malto ou cluster dextrin plutôt que le miel ? J'ai peur que celui ci amène des pics d'insuline assez violent
@Hersovyac
@Hersovyac 3 ай бұрын
Ptdr. Bon courage

@Hersovyac

As you said bicarbonate can make it undrinkable but also extremely upsetting on the stomach and digestion. If too much is consumed you can lower acidity in stomach and cause other issues. All in all better to have it somewhere else except if you won’t need to drink too much. Personally a very small tea spoon is already enough to start some burping even after a solid meal.

My power drink is 170 grams of Greek yogurt, 63 grams of honey and 10 grams of cacao powder. I heat my water up on low in my coffee maker and mix it all up in a shaker cup. Sometimes I add an egg, use peanut butter or make it with coffee. You just need some heat to liquify the yogurt and it all mixes up really smooth.

chad silver era natural drink vs "pro bodybuilder" dextrose shake
@Hersovyac

Ahah indeed. Nothing wrong with dextrose but too much for too long training session are a recipe for stomach upset and mine is already sensitive enough as it is 🤣

A cheaper alternative to honey would be maltodextrin
@Hersovyac
@Hersovyac 7 ай бұрын
Not the same at all bro. Maltodextrine IG is extra high, it’s not glucose and fructose but starches and nothing needs to be processed by the liver. I used it personally in the past and I would often experience « crash » and hypoglycemia symptoms on hard training sessions with it, and never got that with honey.

@@Hersovyac That's interesting to hear, right now I'm using about 50g in 2h sessions and it's going alright
@Hersovyac
@Hersovyac 7 ай бұрын
@@DusmaEduardo I used as much as 70gr for 3H full body session, and when the focus was very leg centric, I would struggle to go back home on foot (about 30mn walk) and would often start shaking and have blurry vision about 5 big minutes before being home. I had to lie or sit down for a while. Replacing it by 40gr of honey stopped that and it never came back.

I never had any issues with that but if you fear it, just swallow immediately don’t let it stay in your mouth and touch your teeth.
