You wouldn't believe this is Europe!
Apparently there is a Fishermans Village outside of Burgas that the Tourists don't know about...I had to go find out...
(I barely understood what they were saying, so if you understand, Let me know in the comments)
Enjoy!

Hi Kurt. Congratulations on all your videos. You are doing something that no one has done in Bulgaria before. You show the unknown Bulgaria. This is the real Bulgaria, which is not even known to the Bulgarians. You visited a few almost illegal distilleries, a market, became "friends" with Angel. By the way, BGN 20 for a walk in the Gypsy neighborhood was a bargain. You felt the difference between the north and the south of the country. You saw and showed us what folk psychology is, how many Bulgarians know other languages, what the hygiene is, the lack of infrastructure, how barbaric they treat live fish without realizing it. I hope you write a very nice study about life in Bulgaria. We look forward to your next videos. Good luck.

@@KurtCaz The fisherman with the white hair was saying that the fish was far away and it was tiring to go after it every day. Then he was complaining that for you it's beautiful, but he has seen the village for 50 years straight and he doesn't see the beauty like you. Then he said that they fish until the snow falls and then survive somehow. But yeah, it is interesting how you managed with the locals. This time they didn't think you were after property hahah

The fisherman with the white beard was talking about how the whole scenery might appear beautiful to some people and nothing much to others who have spent their whole life looking at it. He said that up until winter he goes out and catches fish everyday if the weather is good. He was talking about his little boat and was making jokes about it being a "Параход" or a Steamroller 😂. He said fishing is all he does and he enjoys it. Edit: When you walked up on him he was making some cover for the battery that was supposed to go on his boat. He was showing you the poster of the Burgas mayor who he said was mayor for the 4th time now. He said he does great things for the community and helps people out a lot. Thats why they chose him so many times.

There are only myself and one other Brit..in the village..just how I like. it. Except for the work in the 🌶, tomatoes 🍅, onions 🌰etc..plus an orchard...I am on permanent holiday. I retired here. I'm not quite sure I think he's been beaten. I think he is naturally timid, I've seen dogs that were very very timid and shy of people. His tail was wagging the whole time, he could barely contain it A dog who was beaten would be so apprehensive approaching a stranger, the tail would be tucked under their butts and stay there, anticipating being hit.

@@goudagrishhdoe8925 Yea I agree, I've only seen if a dog is abused it will become violent/aggressive itself, or it will become very nervous and run away if people get close. But I'm not sure, maybe this is another way they react

Are Bulgarians maybe unfeeling people? The older man filleting the fish while it was still alive and breathing showed such a lack of caring for living creatures. He could easily have knocked it over the head or stabbed through its brain first, but he couldn't be bothered. Just starts cutting it while it's alive. What savage ignorant behaviour. I think Kurt was also quite shocked by it.

When you read this you know I am a proud Bulgarian :) I like your videos, I like your recorded vlog type adventures in BG and because in the video you've asked for somebody to translate what the fisherman that invited you in his house said, there you go ;) The man said that he is a retired pensioner, when you said that is beautiful he said that for some people is beautiful and for others that live there for fifty years like him it is a normal every day view, when you asked him about fish he said that is difficult and tiresome, he said he must go far in the sea everyday and he said that when the snow falls it's all over. Basically that was it :) so keep up with the interesting content and have a great New Year's eve!

Awesome video! Interesting perspective that some of us, Bulgarians, rarely see.I love how people's attitude changes when they see foreign people.. they become somewhat more humble. So when you met the nice fisherman (~14', he said that there is no fish there , and the way to the sea is long and tiring but still he has to go everyday and then he joked that the fish may come here or meet him mid way. When you said that it's beautiful village, he said that it may be beautiful for some but for those living there all life (50 years) it's nothing special anymore. And finally, he said that the whole village is very happy with their mayor who has been running for 4 mandates (not sure that's the term in English, but it's 4 years per mandate). I hope that helps Keep the good work!

Yoo Kurt, I literally started watching your videos 2 days ago and pretty much binged half of your adventures, what a life what an occupation. I was pleasantly surprised you have an adventure in my country and was struck to see you visited one of my favorite places from my childhood in this video. My grandfather was a fisherman in this village and I spent many suppers here with him and my grandma but we sold the property and I have not been there in years. This video struck a cord in my soul, you managed to catch the atmosphere of the place and some of the amazing characters which have been there for years. My only fascination is that you did not manage to find the biggest attraction of the village the big beached ship that is next to the beach area and the pier, you would have liked it. I am not sure it still operates as a hotel and a cafe but it is a sight to be seen for sure. You did manage to go to places however where I seldom ventured as a kid. I just want to make it clear that I do not blame you for not finding it at all, the whole place is like a giant maze, best of luck on your adventures, you allow other people to experience a bit of adventure when they are unable to in reality.

I admire you for that. A real tourism. Best way to feel different culture is to explore people and their kind of living. I remember how I got lost in town of Bodrum once and I felt really well walking around the houses

I love your patience in speaking with folks who don’t speak English. Fascinating how humans open to having conversations don’t allow the language barrier to deter them.

Exactly and i think many people just don't get it! that's what Kurt channel is all about. Kurt is being Kurt trying to communicate with people using words he knows and trying to talk to them still as much as he can. People tell him "get someone local to help you to translate, it's frustrating etc". it wouldn't be the same then. I guess then he would be just one of many channels and that's what makes him different. He tries to communicate with people as much as he can even if they don't know each other's language besides like few words. That's what makes it unique. One of the reasons I watch his videos is his interaction with people.

His patience for ''folks who don't speak English''? 'Mister'' , i don't know where you come from but i want to inform you that entire West Europe expects others to speak their native language, i don't know why you think the East is different when comes to that* especially when he visited many non touristic places) Take a dictionary, take your smartphone and ...well, manage.

Dude you have to find an area on the highway where someone can safely pull over. You're causing danger just by being a distraction for the drivers on a blind bend. Other than that great video my man, I'm sure not many people get to experience that fishing village as you have. Thank you for bringing us along! Poor fish though, I don't buy into that theory that fish feel no pain.

Hitchiking isn't a problem in Bulgaria. But my man, you're standing right after a curve in the road where the drivers can't see you and have no time to stop. And you were also going the wrong way, lol. Download google maps next time.

Awesome Video! You're right about the West, people are too paranoid but many have a good reason. From experience it's not always been this way, in the late 70s early 80s many part of the states had very friendly people, unfortunately it started to change in the late 90s and is now a thing of the past. It seems sad to me that kids are not allowed to play outside in most areas, its hard to believe things have become so bad.

Dear Kurt, I’ve been following your videos at Africa as well. What a contrast- Bulgaria’s fishermen village with a few pensioners around and Africa where there are so many people and so many children despite of the misery surrounding everywhere. P.S. Just ask what you want to know in Bulgarian my dear, I could translate.
