Created by hairstylist Taylor Rae, drip dyeing is the daring new way to color your hair. She took her inspiration from videos of artists dripping paint to mix the colors into the coloring of clients' hair. The results of the dye job depend on how she drips and combs the color through the hair. Drip dyeing can create multilayers, a hint of color or an allover blend.

I'm the daughter of a hairdresser and I have several problems with this 1. It waisted hair dye and IT AIN'T CHEAP most hairdressers barely make enough to get by 2. There are several steps missing, 3. It is very unsanitary as it could get all over your skin ( and you don't want hair dye there ) 4. You are supposed to brush it in with a paint brush like brush with dye like that, so it's not getting all the hair probably

@@koolkittens7720 you're confused. People who get it want a surprise. They dont say i want my hair dyed pink and blue, they say can you *insert the method its called* with pink and blue. Next it uses less dye than normal so it's saving paint. Finally its not near skin and im sure she uses gloves.

DJ Jones The results are quite random, you can get colorful hair or just a hint. And some of the comments say the they don't last long. Kind of a waste, but if you're doing for special occasions, it might be just right

If the hair is quite wet during the dyeing process with semipermanent haircolours it will soak up more water than pigment. It may get very uneven and also not vivid. Plus: who wants to clean up this mess xD

Hm, I don't know a lot of salons who are very good with semipermanent and crazy colours in Germany unfortunately. And you do see how they work here, that's just a mess... And the outcome is not that great. I'm just trying to help, as I do this kind of dyes for over 10 years now and I get great results and so do the people who follow my tutorials 💙

I not trained as a hairdresser but I have been dying hair with semi-permant dyes for over 20 years and I wouldn't do this technique as it looks so messy but if you want the colours to be deeper and stand out before dying wash you hair with washing up liquid as it takes alot of the oil out of the hair allowing the dye to seep into the hair better. my favourite dye concoction is 1 part conditioning hair mask to 3 parts hair dye the colours are rich and hair should be soft and manageable but that just one of my methods. because it can also depends what you own hair colour is to start with.

In the case of several colours it divides it around more randomly, a lot like actual hair colour (for those who have several hues), for one colour I guess its just a gimmick but there may be some advantage to it not entirely sure

I get better results from bleaching my hair at home and using different colors of splat hair dye and interchanging the colors randomly. It only costs me like, $20-$30. I mean the idea is unique but wouldn't it wash out in like 1-3 washes??

The first time I dyed my hair I used splat. It smelled awful, faded quickly and stained everything. I go with Arctic Fox now which is so much nicer and in the long run, about the same price because I can save the leftover dye unlike with splat (short hair so I use barely any). But you know, if it works for you, that's great.

Splat is definitely more convenient, but it's such a low quality brand.. everytime I've used it it fades too quickly. I recommend iroiro has the top tier brand. vegan, cruelty-free, smells absolutely AMAZING, keeps the solid color for 3+ weeks and contains natural coconut proteins that keep your hair healthy. currently i think you can only buy online, but arctic fox never yields the right results for me. next best i would say is manic panic.

What's good about this is since it's so diluted,it won't damage your hair. Also since it's so diluted,you won't get bright colours when it dries,but I don't think that's what they want anyway. It's also easier to blend. Not necessarily better,but easier. So I don't think it's a bad idea,but there are quite a few more cons than pros- all that mess to clean up, the colour being very faded(again,not necessarily bad if that's what you want), and unless you're using similar colours it's probably gonna look like a messy at-home job. But oh well, if people are happy with it.

I wish so badly that my hair was light enough to be able to dye is a different color. I have level 2 hair, and am too afraid of bleaching. My hair is so dark that no color will show up on it, unless you're in direct sunlight, which I never am. :(

Crystal Galaxy But it does give an interesting effect that is harder to replicate with normal processes-- and just because something costs more didn't make it a bad idea. I mean, you could fix your front door with duct tape, which is cheaper and would work for a while, or you could spend more and get it fixed. These people want a layered, stripy effect, and it might cost more to do it this way, but it's more efficient.

I think it is, because undiluted hair dye wouldn’t drip that quickly and the colour is a little paler, but I don’t think she put much water in tbh and she could have just put a bowl or something on the floor for her to collect it so she could reuse it.

This is literally only for Instagram. Also it doesn't really get under the hair even when brushing it? And you would have to do like 4 layers of that with THAT much dilution of the water.

oragami thats what i was thinking like even with normal haircolor techniques you sometimes have to go back in that same process and color correct. And if its 80 percent water I do not see how the color would last long. I mean after like a month I have to redo my haircolor I cant imagine it after a week with this technique.

oragami she couldnt possibly and since different hair types have different porosity it couldnt hold for long. And for underneath just combing it through will not do it. I have extremely thick curly hair and I have to comb and brush on top and underneath when I apply color it cannot be dilluted or it wont show on my hair I have a rough time as is lol.

Okay, its pretty cool. But it doesn’t seem to be as accurate as normal methods. They said the result can vary, not great if you wanted a specific colour application. It’s also not good for colouring only tips. And what if you wanted only strands of hair coloured? Won’t work. But I have to say, the video is satisfying and pretty cool. But still, it won’t work well on black hair. I have black hair and normal methods for dye work on me. As for this one, the colour won’t be as vibrant. But cool idea and great for certain styles!

Its a waste.. of money. If i get my hair dye, i dont want it to fade in 1 week. The colours there are barely even there. If thats your thing, good for u. But im not wasting my money on this. Also even the dye solution is 80% diluted. If you watch the actual video, 70-80% of it is combed off. The amount of dye left on your hair is way lesser thn if you get it dyed traditionally. So yes, its still a waste.

xsweet dispositionx but when you think about it, the more than half the solution is still combed off... so it somewhat is colour wastage... plus from what she’s actually applying onto the hair doesn’t look hat diluted and if you were to dilute the dye by 80% it wouldn’t last long at all. so in the end it’s just a waste of money lol.
