Thanks. About your tip on the direction of the link clip. Is there a two way clip for bidirectional motors such as stepper motor positioning systems, or is it less important with low power/speed situations?

Great video and info. I have a pet project: a sliding gate opener. I used a bike chain driven by an electric motor, motor speed is reduced with a worm gear. The problem is after few runs, the chain slips off. I have worked on the tension and alignment. What more do you think I should do? I am thinking of installing 'guard plate' (circumferential) on the drive sprocket , narrow enough to accommodate the chain. I am hoping the 'guard plate' will keep the chain from falling off the sprocket. I haven't seen it done anywhere, wondering if it will work.

You could try a guard plate. Sounds like a cool project. Good luck.

Thank you very much for making this video. It's very easy for me to follow and understand! Wish you well!

A slow-running machine and a fast machine - how many revolutions per minute?

can the drive chain work well when it is deviated like in the derailleur system?thank

Bikes derailers and chains are subjected to much less stress than a industrial drive chain. Bike chains are therefore able to allow for a greater degree of deviation or misalignment.

What if the motor reverses and goes both directions, then which way is the clip installed? Total deviation was 3” is that the 4% or is half of the total deviation the 4%. Please clarify.
