Wow, what great memories. Another memory was watching people search for their car after coming out of the concession stand 🤣🤣🤣🤣; including myself.

In 1982 I worked in the concession stand at a drive-in when I was 15. The projector guy. Show me how to switch over the projectors at the end of the reel when the cigarette Burns comes on.😊

This is truly an era that I wished was still around. Watching this brought back so many memories of that yesterday era. I still can remember watching a double feature with my family as a kid back in the day. I remember we watched, Slivious, (I think i spelled it wrong) and the Jeff Bridges movie version of King Kong. I was only five years old at that time, but still remember going to see them at the drive in. It is sad that time in our history is gone, but the memories will last a lifetime. I definitely believe life was much better back then. We were not so divided or angry at each other all the time. Watching this video and that special period in our time, makes me wonder what has happened to us, and the direction we ended up going. Still thank you for posting it was a pleasure to relive some of those golden days from that forgone era.

Thanks for the kind comments. One of my earliest, vaguest memories was being at a drive-in movie while my parents watched 'Jeremiah Johnson'. I spent many a summer night hanging out with friends at the Georgetown Drive-In in southern Indiana. It still exists and I try to visit whenever I'm back home!! One of my favorite moments happened when they had a late night showing, following 'Cowboys & Aliens' (ugh) of an original print of 'American Graffiti'. It's like that movie was made for drive-in viewing. To keep the mood alive... I've recently purchased an outdoor movie screen for my backyard and I always like to kick off the evening with these Drive-In ads.

my brother and i were very young and always fell asleep, but not after the 10 minutes to show time reel, it was the best part of going to the drive in to us

I miss the old drive in theaters. We only have one theater that Survived! New moon, stardust and showboat are gone!

My old hometown still has one... but it's 600 miles away. Hopefully, I'll get back there this summer.

In the PDA trailer, the wrong word was used-it should be affect and not effect.

well, number one, it was long to give people time to go spend money at the concession stand, and number two there's a blu ray out with about TWELVE HOURS worth of these called HEY FOLKS! IT"S INTERMISSION TIME. Something Weird put them out years ago and now AFGA released them all on two discs.

You'd think the pandemic would have brought them back, but except for some temporary pop ups, not so much.

Hi, was curious if I'd be able to clip the first minute of your video for our local high school's senior class's prom party? We are doing a Drive-In theme and thought this would be a fun entrance for them. Thanks much! Carole

Did they really serve soda in such tiny cups and with no lids or straws?
@SuV3335811 ай бұрын
That's why there wasn't as many fat people back then. Compared to today's gallon tubs of soda today 😅
