I grew up in Milwaukee during the 70's and we had some amazing Drive-in Theaters back then. The closest one to us was the 41-Twin Drive-in🎥Theater🎥 on South 27th Street in Franklin, Wisconsin. I used to LOVE that place. There was nothing like spending a Friday or Saturday night at the Drive-in. The 41-Twin Drive-in had on huge screen, on both sides. They took one screen and put another one on the other side. Later on they expanded and added two more screens, a bit smaller but still decent to each side. The original screen had the 🔊speakers🔊 that hooked onto your window, while the newer screens you had to use your car radio or a portable radio if you had one. I really miss it. The second place was the 24-Outdoor out in West Allis. They weren't as big as the 41-Twin, but it was still a awesome place. Plus they had a really nice playground for kids. Swingsets, those bouncing spring rides, a jungle gym, and other necessities for kids fun. Both had really good concession stands. The 🍔🍔🍔Hamburgers🍔Cheeseburgers🍔🍔🍔 were sooo soooo good! The 🍟French🍟Fries🍟 were epic! And both places had🍦🍨🍧 ICE CREAM!!🍦🍨🍧, as well as other yummy items! 🍩Doughnuts🍩,🍪Cookies🍪, 🎂other🍰sweets🧁🥧, and 🍫🍬CANDY!🍭 Plus 🥤soda🥤and/or 🧃juice🧃. For a kid it was the best place to go.

This footage seems to be from the SkyView Cruise-In theater which still operates outside of Lancaster Ohio

We never had the promotion like the one they showed @ 19:55 mark. The "From Dusk til` Dawn" promotion they showed. That would have been such a unique idea especially once I got my Driver's license. Spend a night at the movies? Relaxing in your car, yep that would have been epic!

You still have a Drive-in Theater? That's awesome and pretty lucky. We had two Drive-in Theaters near our house. One was really close. About 2 miles south. The other was a bit farther away but not too bad. I'd say maybe 15 minutes tops. The 41-Twin was the name of our favorite Drive-in. Sadly it was torn down about 25 years ago. I spent so many summers with my parents at both the 41-Twin Drive-in and the 24-Outdoor Drive-in. Those were some of the best and most fun times I had as a kid, next to going to County Stadium for Brewers games. Every single part of the Drive-in was fun. Before the movie began kids had a small playground to play on. Swing-sets, a big Sand Box, those Springy Animals you could ride. They would bounce back and forth....boingy, boingy, boingy, boingy, and usually a slide. It was really fun beginning to end. I really miss those days. To still be able to spend some time with your family at a Drive-in Theater has to be a very special time. It's great that not all Drive-in Theaters are gone. They were such a huge part of many people's lives. I'm really happy that you and your city can still experience this. Take care and God Bless.

This brings back so many wonderful memories.❤ Franklin, Wisconsin was my home as I mentioned below, but the town that this was shown at is so similar to my town. It really took me back to when I was a kid growing up. Those little clips.....5 minutes to go til showtime! We had the jumping 🌭Hotdog🌭and Bun in a 🎪circus🎪setting for one of ours. Those were some really special times!

So sad that there are no more Tastee-Freez stands in existence anymore. 😞

Where I live in New Mexico, there is one Tastee Freeze left. It's in a town called Tularosa. It's in Southern NM. Still serve the amazing soft serve cones and still runs old school. Old tables, kitchen, and old fashioned food.

18:26 I assume this was generally available in the South and the Midwest. I don’t remember BBQ sandwiches at the Drive-Ins in New Jersey or Connecticut.

Is the karaoke gone forever? I listen to your versions more than the actual songs... they're the best!
