22:35 it’s illegal to hold a mobile phone while in a car unless it’s an emergency or unless you’re stationary and paying for a service via contactless payment but many drivers especially in London break the law by checking their phones at a red traffic light.

22:23 yes mate, they might get a filter green left arrow so it’s pointless looking at the car next to you, you have to look at gaps in the flow so when they stop it’ll be someone else’s turn, it’s also helpful to look at the red and green men if you can see them.

11:13 in a situation like that road rage can happen very quickly which is obviously very dangerous as you don’t know what the other driver is capable of, they could be a psychopath, I remember a few years ago I almost got beaten up while out on my bicycle just because I pulled over to help the oncoming car come through as the road narrowed on both sides, always assume the other driver is a nutter, don’t react, don’t say anything to them, don’t look at them, just think of best flow for everyone and get out of there.

14:41 because he’s going straight he has priority, that’s not correct, as he’s not crossing anyone’s path he goes first is the correct thing to say, but honestly, even if you have priority or not, assuming you have priority is a very dangerous mindset to have because what if the other person has a different opinion, priority can only be given and not taken.

14:01 nobody has priority in that situation like it says in the Highway Code, in that situation you correctly gave way to the cyclist as you’re crossing his path, bit worrying you didn’t see the cyclist, I saw them at 14:16.

05:25 that’s not true mate, with the give way lines on both sides all that means is that you and the van need to both give way to traffic already on the main road, when there are no vehicles on the main road both you and the van don’t have priority and eye contact and a decision has to be made as to who would like to go first, it’s courteous to let the person who has been waiting the longest go first but it’s not a rule, usually if you’re crossing the path of someone you’d let them go first but it’s not a rule, so in the video for example the van is going straight on and you’re turning right, because you’re crossing the path of the van you correctly gave way to him, it’s the same at a crossroads with a central reservation, it’s the same at all junctions, if you’re crossing the path of someone generally you’re going to let them go first.

If you don’t have a SatNav, what does the driving instructor do? Because I heard 1 in 5 tests are road signs, but what if you’re apart of the 4 who are satnav, do they bring one with them?

39:45 on a driving test don’t be thinking about all of that, you need to remain 💯% focused until you switch off the engine at the test centre, so many people drive great for 35 minutes and then fail at the very last minute, imagine how gutted you’d be.

35:20 nice of the cyclist to signal but as he was cutting across the path of the learner car he should have given way, unless the learner driver was giving their priority to the cyclist.

10:22 pretty poor driving and forward planning skills from a so called professional bus driver but well done mate for sorting out the situation, the bus driver was selfish and thinking about only himself but a good driver will think of best flow for everyone, not just for himself.

11:01 It is not illegal to reverse a bus but is unadvisable on a public road without someone competent, preferably a qualified banksperson, or another driver, this is due to the rather large blind spots which could easily obscure a person, motorbike or indeed a car or a van from view, no matter what vehicle you’re driving you must not reverse for longer than necessary and obviously you must not reverse from a side road onto a main road.
