Damn I thought for at least such a high profile game like Driveclub they would at least shoot for 60fps. I know it'll probably still be playable but 60fps is just so much more smoother looking.

I downloaded a 1080p gameplay video from the Driveclub website and the video ran at 60 fps on windows media player... Shouldn't the video be running also at 30 fps? Why does the video run at 60 fps, but the actual game runs at 30? Fake advertinsing by the developers? Someone please explain this to me

Forza Horizon 2 is open world with 30fps Forza 5 is Track based with 60fps Driveclub is Track based with 30fps you see where im going with this.....

I haven't played this game but in every video it looks weird, the movement of the cars looks rough, maybe its just the KZfaq compression?

If I was stuck in peasant land for a day, I'd rather play Forza Horizon 2. It's graphically superior and has better presentation. But this game really is underwhelming. It looks a step down from the footage they had been showing before, probably running on a PC.

Nothing looks cool about this game other then the graphics. The cars look like they barely take in any damage even at 100+ mph dudes car flipped and the only thing that took damage was the windows wtf. The engines in the cars sound alike, tire screeching is terrible sounds like a screech from a giant bird I see why people said it's mediocre. This doesn't come close to fh2. 

Never was a fan of racing games like this, i like classic racing games like mario kart or diddy kong racing, but it does look gorgeous of course

Why does PC in 30 fps seem to lag, while PS4 in 30 fps does not seem to lag?

I think we all should understand that this is a first gen game in console life, developers are still learning all the tricks, etc. I'm sure that Driveclub 2 if it ever gets released will run at 60 FPS with better gfx

How does wet weather affect fps and gameplay?

The game looks fantastic but, so it should, as it is running at 30 FPS. The big question is how does it play and is it fun? From the reviews, it doesn't seem like this game is anything special as far as racers go (and may have fared better critically had it met its intended 2013 release date) but hopefully I will enjoy it. I should get my copy today. It's nice that this is a different game to the sublime Forza Horizon 2 though, especially with the two being released within a week of each other.

So, here we are, sitting in front of youtube and watching gameplay of Driveclub instead of playing our long promised PS Plus demo... No offense to DF. Well done frame test. Great job as always.

My personal impression of the game's detail (also, this is just an impression of the game's visual and not the rest of the game's detail and I don't want to start argument war in my comment even though I actually a Playstation fans. So, it's not have any relation with the gameplay. Remember, graphics don't completely make the games !) Frame rate are rock solid and there is no any drop. Lighting system are the most amazing part since it's stuffed with dynamic fully modeled sun & illumination, dynamic volumetric 3D clouds, dynamic organic sky, and unique dynamic weather system (really, dynamic weather actually already present since the release of the game ! It's just only missing the rain and snow variety.) which even simulate realistic real atmosphere effect, lighting diffusion which affect colour grading and colour atmosphere, and unique visual detail and looks in every each country. Car model are totally top notch and authenthic when compare to most "realistic" racing game (even on par with FH 2's Forza Vista car detail, even though with poly only 260K. Still I praise FH 2 car model being the best but DC did a good job anyway) with every each 5K material of the car (I don't exactly remember if it's 500 or 5K) are rendered in the most finest state and advantage of Physical-based rendering system. The whole detail of every each track are amazing, with every each of track boasting over 100 variety of vegetation rendered on amazing detail (unfortunately, not all vegetation are have 3D foliage except all pine tree in Canada and some other vegetation in other country. and all grass and some few bushes lack shadow.). It's still amazing though since mostly it's rather 3D-looking instead being another Forza's cardboard 2D foliage. Also, the game's real-world based location detail are rendered with the possible accuracy and detail since they use NASA sattelite to recreating geographics formation and surface accurately. The cons of the game's detail is : AA. Aliasing actually executed properly, although in many case, it can be noticeable (I really complimenting FH 2's AA technique for being able to advantage properly their worthy 4x MSAA efficiently). But it's not a problem though since in most any case, it's rather barely to unnoticeable and I promise, it's not distracting. AF also another hit as the texture don't properly filtered which creating an extensive blur even on close distance. Somehow, pops-in actually visable, especially on small detail on distance. And again, it isn't completely distracting. Car detail even though really amazing, still suffer a problem. first, rearview mirror completely worse as it's missing many detail (mostly vegetation and spectator, also detail more low quality and even FH 2 looks better actually) and it isn't act like how real life rearview mirror should must be. second, car reflection are low-res and it's missing player's reflection. also IMO, car's paint material didn't simulated properly and in some case, it can be looks rather incorrect (example, stock Mercedes A45 AMG should be metallic/glossy white, but in gameplay, it's looks rather semi-glossy mate white. Well, I admit that FH 2 in fact have better material detail and quality, also accurately and properly rendered.). Texture are decent, but in some track, many player said the texture rather flat, especially on India track which is the most complained track for having worse looking texture. But, I think it's just because the fact that India's countryside have pretty well dusty-looking environment (once again, I admit and even give kudos FH 2 for having physical-based rendering system fully advantage on almost the whole Southern Europe to recreate amazing yet detailed texture.). And the last, environment also get complained (although this is actually just an personal taste) and I agree that DC sometime have its environment looks bland and empty. Although mostly I don't think so. For me, the whole detail are amazing. That's all of my impression. So, the coclusion is : DC are one of many game with the most gorgeus visual detail ever has been made.

overal its a good drive... good game. I know you can't tune or even see replays... but for a first next gen car game.. it looks beautiful and the driving is great, you need a t300 though setup up properly... It's a thrilling drive. There will be better car games in future but this is alright for now... Im a bit worried with the online aspect if it will fall apart thats all.

I find 1080p more important than 60fps Also its not like with 30fps its unplayable its still running fluid without any framedrops.furthermore solid 30fps looks much better than a framerate that is bouncing between 50and60fps all the time

Some of you really think that companies who made consoles will give You equipment to run games at 1080p 60fps with ultra good graphics? why would they? it's better then last gen, something in between, that just guaranty for the business for another 7 years. Why would you give the best straight away if You can just update it a little and still sell Your console for another 6-7 years and then have something strong enough for 1080p 60fps and have a guaranted another 7 years. That's how it works with everything. Development of faster CPU's and GPU's is fast but You have to sell what You had in between development. Step by step without big jumps.

Very stable framerate. I've played it after playing GT5 (which is stable 60fps btw) and I think they both felt as good. I really like the racing, at the moment playing multiplayer and it's a lot of fun and competitive.

The sounds in this game are seriously lacking. Other cars make no sound at all? Collisions sound weak too, while the car makes the same irritating tire screeching noise on straightaways. Looks pretty, sounds bad.

Why are people saying XB1 is holding the PS4 back on assassins creed unity when both this and Horizon 2 run at 1080 / 30 fps. Horizon 2 has to use a TON of memory as well with open world textures. This is linear so is should technically run better and look better.

i would have prefered a frame rate that jumps from around 50 to 60 instead of 30 that is locked, i hope the sense of speed is decent enough to accept the 30fps

You can build a gaming PC for the same price as a ps4 and it will deliver better graphics and higher frames with more games, I own a Xbox one for Xbox exclusives and I plan of getting a ps4 for uncharted 4 but this is pathetic for an exclusive.

Looks really good. I'm a sucker for realistic environments in beautiful settings. As a game I would prefer Forza Horizon 2, though. And what's the deal with 30fps being the new norm? I think developers' priorities are messed up... 60 is smooooth, yummy, want more!

The only thing I like more on this than horizon 2 is the fact they show the player doing 900° steering in the cockpit view which forza dont have. Anything else I think forza offers a better experience.

I'd rather have this locked 30 than GT6's variable 60 on PS3. This doesn't kill FH2, and also FH2 doesn't kill this. In fact, it can't be compared to each other anyway. EDIT: I'm having fun watching those PC Elitists and die-hard Xbots idiots on the comment section. LOL.

Hey if I run the video at 2x speed it will run at a proper frame rate. How you console players are okay with 30fps racing games or any games for that matter boggles my mind. It is quite sad that we game in a time where eye candy is more important than how a game plays.

I don't know what people are saying ''Horrible physics and car sounds''... Really? I played the game and the car sounds are amazing, each one sounds different and feels different. It's not a full on simulator but the physics feel very good, at least to me. You can push the cars but if you push them too much you might spin out. I'd say it's closer to a simulator than let's say Need For Speed, the physics are nothing like NFS. Every car looks very detailed and realistic. About damage, the game isn't supposed to be NextCarGame, or a simulator. If you hit stuff you'll mess up your car's looks a bit tho, which is bad in this beautiful looking game. You can't just drive to walls and win the race though. I'm having fun with the races, especially Chile in nighttime looks stunning with the NASA calculated stars in the skies. Just an hour ago saw northern lights in Norway. Tracks and cars are awesome. Quantity over quality. I'm just here waiting for the servers go up though...

I do love this game but the original gameplay footage that we were all shown months ago by the developers was clearly running at 60 frame rateat least which onviously makes a huge difference.. I wont preorder a game based on pre sale vids anymore. Will wait until after release and suss out the real gamers experience
