In the first section of the S-Bahn line Alexanderplatz to Königswusterhausen, the journey starts in 1993 in an East Berlin whose cityscape is already undergoing major changes. Especially at Alexanderplatz, many construction sites can be seen from the elevated track. Via Jannowitzbrücke and Ostbahnhof, the S-Bahn rumbles on to the green outskirts of Adlershof, where fewer and fewer people board and the landscape becomes more rural. A look at the speedometer shows what braking looks like in the driver's cab of the S-Bahn Berlin.
