I hope you enjoy racing a modified for the first time Landon. I grew up in the Northeast going to Oswego Speedway for the Whelen Tour race there every fall. I promise you, it's going to be an eye opening experience in MANY ways. These guys are GOOD. Don't be surprised if you're fighting for 12th-15th all week long, and do NOT be disappointed with that at all. Finding that last 10% that separates winners from everyone else is TOUGH in these cars, and it's gonna take seat time and patience to find the sweet spot in these cars for you. The equipment you're starting with is a BIG plus in your favor though. Can't wait to see you out there, rubbing nerf bars. Just remember that's not the same thing as rubbing fenders lol.

I raced 300hp 4cyl modifieds like this for 15 years. They are so much fun to set up. You can really dial them in and try crazy set ups. My dream was always to get in a V8 version. We only ran 10" tires on 13" wheels, so I imagine the grip is very similar. I raced that car all over Florida. Unfortunately, I never made it to New Smyrna. I hope you do really well with it.

After a few runs in the mod every thing in the late model & limited cars with seem to happen slower. Hopefully it will help your reaction time & you’ll notice incidents sooner. Have fun and you may want to make sure the air cleaner top is double nutted. You may want to look into a air cleaner top that breathes like a K&N filter, had one on my PASS mod.

ok so im 55 and stasrted watching mods in the late 70"s in nh.my 1st tour driver i started rooting 4 was tommie baldwins dad tiger tom sr. in the 7ny car.coolest moment was when he flew in on a helicopter as they were starting the feature race at thompson.

The floating at the end of the straight, is it due to weight transfer when applying the brakes?

Are you running a Gleason rear end? Or a locker ? And did you have the right gear in the car for Caraway or were you running the Newsmyrna speedway gear?
