Having lived in TX for 6+ years, rain is something you really want. I live in west Texas, which doesn’t really get rain. We go almost two years with any good rain. We usually have a drought for one year, floods the next, droughts the next, etc. Yeah rain is something you love out here. It’s also sad without rain, the animals tend to get malnourished and die from dehydration. It sucks T-T send the rain our way :’)

They must be going to the panhandle but there is a shorter route for sure thru Pagosa Springs and Pueblo. That midnight snowstorm drive across the Res must have been terrifying - we had a very similar experience about 30 years ago when we moved from Phoenix on New Years day. Freezing cold, snowing, midnight on the res and the low altitude setting on the carburetor on my "boyfriends" truck was not working well - seriously thought we were going to freeze to death because the truck was getting like 3 miles to the gallon pulling a heavy uhaul trailer and not a gas station for miles. Absolutely terrifying!!!

As a New Mexican, I can confirm that the weather is absolutely ridiculous here. Different season every day, and it more often snows during fall and spring than winter.

I live in Illinois, one day we had a snow tornado, then the very next day we had 80+ degrees IN FEBRUARY. "The prairie state" more like "Everything that can go on goes on" state. Nature is wild sometimes🤣😅

I love how Mom drove Kris to Texas. I admire the love and support her family gives her. It would be so hard dropping Mom off at the airport and I'm sure Mom had a hard time leaving. There had to of been tears but that's love, supporting your child on their life experiences ❤.

I have done so many of those drives! I love road tripping, and listening to your discussions. Cara and Kara are totally different names, and when I lived in Albuquerque, I had friends with those names. My BIL lived in Moab for years. I just did almost this exact drive earlier this year. Glad you made it safe!

It's so trippy when Kris mentions areas I have either lived or been for long periods of time (Boise, Salt Lake City, Ogden, etc). Plus, the 13:13 mark? Yeah. That's Idaho for ya.

Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico all get such bipolar weather 😂. And that’s what it’s like going on a road trip through these states once you’re in the middle of nowhere sh!t gets creepy. But during the day it can be so beautiful. Also those are wind mills.

Watching this massive journey in your life happening is exciting, seeing that your Mum is doing this with you and Kevin makes this a memory for you both. You are very lucky to have a Mum like her. My Mum (who passed 3yrs ago) also did several road trips with me, she didn't do the driving unlike Your Mum, just knowing that my mum was doing the trip with me was special enough and made me love her even more. I hope this trip makes your relationship with Your Mum even stronger and memorable.

No way! I actually did that same drive except starting from Marysville, WA on the 1st as well! Crazy. We ended up going to AZ though then all the way over to AR for the solar eciplise then north and back around to come home. Over 5000+ miles of driving. We just finally made it home. lol So happy to be out of the car!! Glad you made it safely! We had a sketch situation with the snow as well in the night. No fun!
