It doesn't snow much in Tokyo.

When I was a kid, I would play video games like Sonic the Hedgehog, which of course are produced in Japan. There is always some level where you're on the highway and the highways are winding roads in the sky or elevated. As an American, that's not how highways look in my country. So in my mind as a child, just imagined that the creators of the game were just stylizing the environment. Having become a fan of videos like this, I see now that the game creators were basing their games on stylized and caricatured versions of the way highways look like in Japan. Pretty interesting.
