This was a very fun video to make and I hope you enjoy it! We drove the L322 to Lille in France using the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais. It was our first time doing this and we loved it! I have to say, the Range Rover is 100% the perfect road trip car and I am excited to take it on more trips soon. Perhaps a European roadtrip to a few different countries? Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions.

I forgot to mention in the video that it cost almost £300 for the return ticket on the Eurotunnel. It seems pricey so I wondered how much it cost anybody else that's used it?

Tunnel is always more expensive than the ferry but you pay for the convenience I guess. Done both but prefer the ferry for price and being able to see out and not be stuck in the car or van depending on if it winter or summer. Plus you can get m and m'son the ferry

Diesel is cheaper in France!! I always fill up in Auchan in Dieppe, works out at under £1.70 p per litre. Head lights are done by a lever in the headlamp itself! No need for deflectors etc. Owners handbook has details.

Two tips for driving in France, and the continent generally. If your vehicle is over twelve years old, many insurers won't cover for roadside assistance. In that case go to Assistance Mondiale who will sell you a policy. I've been rescued by them in a broken down VW camper: "le roulement avant est cassis!". Recommended. Tip 2: the French have rest areas on their autoroutes that aren't service stations, but do have picnic tables, loos, and a phone. They're not trying to sell you anything - isn't that wonderful! Anyway, if you find yourself in a rest area, broken down, go to the phone and dial "17". You'll get connected to a local recovery firm. I did this for a clutch failure in a Disco3 a few years back. Bon voyage!

I'm disappointed that you don't have the baby changing spare tires in his high viz jacket yet... definitely not meeting his development goals there. 😆 I wish my US spec 12' had a motorway mode as a few times a year I do cross country travel. Would have helped in the 60 mph winds this past spring. Also, was pretty tight in and out of that garage! The L322 has the tightest turning radius of any SUV I've ever driven (driven loads of suvs and pickup trucks) besides the rwd id4 - that's on another level though.

Great video guys and the little one seemed unphased by the trip. Shows how comfortable he must've been in there 😊 Where abouts in Wales will you be heading to. We're about 10 miles inland from Rhyl. Would be good to meet up with our little ones as they're off school for the Summer holidays after Tuesday Take care for now. Oh and for fuel economy try cleaning MAF sensors, swap airfilters for high flow ones such as K&N, Clean injectors with some additive added to your fuel tank. A remap is also good for improving your MPG. Oh and you can get a carbon clean done, there are mobile services available in some areas. I would change the fuel filter when you get chance too. Hope this helps guys 👍

Well done Lucy! The Miles to Kms for the dash is under UNITS. Press OK on the steering wheel and then the right arrow, scroll down to Trip Computer, then press OK, Scroll down to Units and press OK, Scroll down to Km,Kmh, l/100km then press OK to get out of there press the LEFT arrow on the steering wheel to return to the top. The TIME is set on the Infotainment screen by the way. If you are on WhatsApp I can send you photos of the various screens you will see. Because my route is to the West of Paris nearly always, I use DFDS Newhaven Dieppe ferry, as the time taken to drive to Folkestone, wait and cross through the tunnel and then drive to Rouen is 15 mins quicker via the ferry! You do have a 4 hour ferry crossing which with a small child can be a bit of sa trail, and my son who has two children uses the tunnel. By the way he uses Tesco Clubcard points and that makes it seriously cheaper. Your choice of crossing will depend on destination as well. As I said in my previous post Gasiole (Diesel) is MUCH cheaper in France! I cross with as little as I can and fill up at the first Supermarket. Even at €2 a litre (It is 1€93 now) and 86 p per Euro that works out at £1.75 a litre!! A no brainer! There are loads of French web sites that have current fuel prices which you can find on your route. For the tunnel, Carrefour at the Cite Europe shopping centre, right by the tunnel is often very competitively priced! Good for wine, beer etc.as well. It does tend to be busy with the French though, but there is loads of free parking! Enjoy your next trip! I'm off in my L322 3.6TDV8 tomorrow night with a quarter tank of diesel and will fill up at Elbeuf at a price of 1€91 which makes it £1.60 per litre!!! At 28mpg that is a serious saving on a 420 mile journey! By the way I call my RR a comfy armchair on wheels!

I think that is a fair point, the lesson here being that just because these are relative bargains to buy, do not assume that they will be cheap to run. I regularly take my Q7 to France and usually see around 38 mph including a lot of 130Kmh motorway driving. Agreed that Q7 and Touaregs are not RR’s but in many respects they are also superior. I do love the RR though, such an imposing and capable car.

Without trying to be anal, car max ride height at motorway speeds is normal. There is access height and crawl mode but access height reverts to previous height at 5mph and crawl at 24mph. Also theres a lever in the headlight cluster for changing to other side of the road, no stickers required!

@@LucyOnCars so you know, L322 fits perfectly in double deck shuttle too. In case you don’t have a choice. We’ve done it many times.

This may sound like blasphemy but I can't see the point of a Range Rover unless you live or work in a muddy field. Worse fuel consumption, performance and handling than a 5 Series Touring or XF estate. Even my E39 M5 managed 27mpg when we took it to France in 2019 !

A landcruiser holds its value even at 15 years old they still expensive to me why don't range rover could it be the bad reputation for reliability and cost of repair they are beautiful cars but there's a reason the United nations use Toyota landcruiser in Africa and not range rovers.

Well done you. Most women would refer to it as "the car" not the "the L322"?
