Mount Jiajin Scenic Area, also known as Mount Jiajin Scenic Area and Mount Jiajin Tourist Area, is located at the junction of Baoxing County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province and Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture. It is bounded by Baoxing County, Wenchuan County, and Xiaojin County in the northeast, north, and west directions respectively. It is bounded by the county boundaries of Kangding County and Kangding County; it is bounded by Fengtongzhai National Nature Reserve in the southeast, and by the township boundaries of Qi Qi Township, Longdong Town, and Yongfu Township in the southeast and south, with an area of 839 square kilometers.
Mount Jiajin is the western branch of the Qionglai Mountain System. The word "Jiajin" comes from "Jiajinda" in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, which is the transliteration of the Tibetan "Jiaji", which means "curved road". The main peak is 4260 meters above sea level. The top of the mountain, Pingkou Wangmu Village, is 4114 meters above sea level. It is the boundary between Baoxing and Xiaojin County (Maogong), and is also the place where giant pandas have lived for generations. The scenic area includes mountain lakes, Red Army relics, ethnic customs, and a semi-wild giant panda breeding reserve.
In July 2006, at the 30th World Heritage Conference of UNESCO, the giant panda habitat "Wolong·Sigunian Mountain·Mount Jiajin" in Sichuan, China, was successfully applied for the World Natural Heritage List; in August 2022, it was selected as a "World Natural Heritage" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism "China's Rural Tourism Premium Routes".
China's G351 National Highway starts from Toumen Port, Linhai City, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, passes through 5 provinces and cities of Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Chongqing, and Sichuan, and ends in Dawei Township, Xiaojin County, Sichuan Province. The whole journey is 2500 kilometers, running east-west, across East China , central and western inland hinterland.
