Troy is the county seat of Rensselaer County in the state of New York, United States. The city is situated on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, on the western end of Rensselaer County. Troy is closely linked to the surrounding cities of Albany and Schenectady, comprising the Capital District region. The city is one of three major hubs in the Albany metropolitan statistical area, which has a population of 1,170,483 people. Troy has a population of 51,401 people according to the 2020 census. Ilium fuit, Troja est is Troy's motto, which means "Ilium was, Troy is."

Troy has certainly seen better days.I grew up there in 60-90s era and I do have fond memories of the good times and great places in the neighborhoods.Sadly those days have come and gone 😢😢

Just drove by the Proctor movie theater where i first saw "War of the Worlds" a movie that scared the crap out of me at a very young age. You drove up 4th street past Ida where I lived and past a lot of places I remembered from my youth. Thanks for the drive through the past!

You really can't tell how poor and run down the area of south Troy is that begins your video. I travel this area at least once a week to go to and from shopping at Hudson Valley Plaza across from the community college (not a part of your video). Just to be realistic here.....

I always find Troy to be interesting. Maybe not particularly upscale, but typical for a city of that age and history. I like it.

Depends what section of the city you live in. Troy has a 23%+ poverty rate, problems with mental illness and drugs, etc. I've lived here 13 years and am. leaving within a year...

Don’t do it. It is ghetto thru and thru. High taxes. High crime, homelessness, drugs, understaffed hospitals poor hospitals.
