I'm a bit unsure of this advise. I only have experience with one mild/severe autistic child, but he could do all of these things as I remember, but luckily I have video so I'll take a look. Also, the interviewee mentions signs of "natural" development. I think a more accurate term is typical development. When we think in terms of typical and not "natural", we get a more accurate impression of a person without the subconscious baggage of who is "natural".
