In today’s video, I show off my entire rap hip hop vinyl collection as of May 2020. I started collecting vinyl records in December of 2016 when I got a record player as a Christmas gift. Almost all of my vinyl collection is rap & hip hop since it is my favorite genre. I hope you guys enjoy and let me know in the comments what you guys have in your collection and what you look forward to adding to it. Cool post man- nice shows, and you spoke about the pieces well. It also looks like you have an AT LP-60 and some CDs, so you're well on your way. Nice "All Eyez On Me" gatefold... that one is better than the single sleeve edition imo... would also agree that "4 Your Eyes Only" and "To Pimp A Butterfly" are two stellar projects that are slept on. There's going to come a time when you wake up with a song in your head and just have to listen to in order to go on with your day. Only problem is there's so much music in your head that you can't remember shit lmfao 🤣🤣🤣🤣 In other words, keep reading the back covers, bro, so you don't end up digging in your crates for hours all frustrated looking for one song. I got 2014 forest hill drives and untitled unmastered by j Cole and Kendrick that’s my first j Cole record want to get K.O.D on cd and that’s my second Kendrick album on vinyl first was T.P.A.B. I heard that gkmc on vinyl sounds muffled but don’t know 😂😂

That's dope! GKMC is the perfect way to start out. That was one of my first records and Late Registration is Kanye's forgotten classic. The more time that passes, the more it gets slept on.

Yessir! Bay Area all day. Logic is one of my favorite rappers ever, from YS mixtapes to albums, he’s always been an amazing rapper, though I’ll admit the last few albums weren’t the greatest but with No Pressure, I loved it. I felt like he bounced back, got hungry again and rapped like he did when he was on the come up. I will say that this album, to me, felt like what YSIV was supposed to be.

Dope collection! The College Dropout and Man on the moon were the first albums I got on vinyl! I recommend getting some Wu-Tang and A Tribe Called Quest albums!

Dope! Between 808’s, MBDTF, and probably The Incredible True Story by Logic are by far some of the best packaging when it comes to records. The amount of detail and quality that went into them makes the purchase so worth it.

That’s dope! I’m glad to see that. That’s part of the reason I make these videos is to share my favorite artists with people. You should check out his making of videos on KZfaq, he did a lot for those first 3 mixtapes. It’ll show you how dope he really is and add to your apprecation of these songs.

Thank you, I appreciate you saying that and I’m glad I could help inspire you with your collection. Just give it time and buy at your own pace, I’ve been collecting for almost 3 years now. I say that to say your collection will grow as times goes on and become more unique to you in the process. I got lucky with the Bobby Tarantino vinyls, they happen to be unofficial vinyls I got at a local record store. I’d look on eBay, that would be your best bet. Good luck!

Hello there it's good to see vinyl records making a comeback I've had records before back in my days the real 1980s. And late 70s. I would honestly say I like Jon Bellion he's a good artist however I don't like the original versions of the song 80s films. He has another version where he collaborated with a group called The Midnight they are a synthwave group they recorded that song it is called 80s films the midnight remix. I like that version much better.

Ready to Die vinyl always had that cover for some reason. I know because I bought it when it first dropped. CD had the baby, the vinyl had that. Not sure why. I'm thinking you need to dive into A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul.

You have good taste in hip-hop. I was born in Oakland, CA. I'm 58 & I started listening to hip-hop [rap] since the early 80's. Hip-Hop lost it's sound in the mid 2010's, too many mumble rappers, but the stuff you have chosen is stuff I would listen to. Check out M.A.D. Kutz album "Reelizm" from 1998, they have a good flow, also a classic album "93 'til Infinity" by Souls of Mischief, is a banger also.

That’s dope! I haven’t heard that song in years. I found Jon through Logic as well. When Logic dropped Undeniable in 2012, I instantly became a fan and followed him and the label, Visionary Music Group, which led me to finding Jon’s mixtape Translations Through Speakers and the rest is history.

I’m a big fan of the art that these artists create. From the different sounds, beats, lyrics, structure of the songs, I think that’s a art form and a lot of these albums are classic to me and mean a lot to me as well. I was always super intrigued by the way a vinyl looks, how the artwork can really be seen and appreciated compared to small CD and I believe they are a valuable collectable that you can customize to be unique to yourself.
