I miss Brent! I never understood why I made the connection, but he always used to remind me of K-Fed. Maybe it was because of his stoner-style laugh, or because he so rarely got the chance to speak anything more than "awright" and "nyeh mang". I remember watching this episode when it aired, and being surprised that Brent finally got the chance to say a full sentence. I can only remember a single occasion when he got the opportunity to take the lead, and it only lasted for about a minute. It was during a stretch of episodes when Rick Bacon was more or less flying solo as the host. I don’t remember what the repair/fabrication/installation was, but Brent finally got the chance to explain the technical and practical side of it to the audience, and he held his own just fine. They could/should have given him more opportunities like it, but I never saw it happen again. Alas, Brent Buttrey, you flew too close to the sun.

Hey guys! You make it look so easy! I guess when you have a shop with all the equipment it helps. I have a 63 Impala SS Convertible which is an original 409/ Duel Quad/ 4 Speed and posi. rear. I used to race at the old NEW YORK NATIONAL-SPEEDWAY, back in the late 1970's. Broke a lot of things, but had fun doing it! She has been sitting for quite some time (25yrs.) while under a tarp. There is no motor in it, just don't have the money to put her back together. It would be nice if you guys wanted to do a show rebuilding my car.I have a lot of the original parts.

@@CamaroAmx AND IT WAS A TRUCK ENGINE/MOTOR
@CamaroAmx
@CamaroAmx 4 жыл бұрын
clyde williams in many cases back then a truck engine was considered better for high performance builds then a passenger car engine. Why? In most cases the truck engine lead a lower speed and higher degree of preventive maintenance life. Plus back then, engines designed for trucks were more robust (forged rods and pistons and thicker stronger blocks) then passenger car engines, even if they were the same engine. So if a car company decided to make a high performance engine, they would start with a truck block over a passenger car block.

This video was posted in 2020. This morning I found a video from 2011 from a shop that took this car in to "fix" it to make it road worthy, and another video where it was displayed at the 2013 SEMA show. I know they did some excellent body work on this thing, but there is a disconnect from a car built for a show and reality. Ty-rapping the headlights in? Having to fix the rear suspension? This show has lost some of it's luster for me.
