Would you be willing to do a video for us gals, who have barely anything on their head ? Nobody ever talks about it, everyone is all about long beautiful locks. I buzzed my very damaged, very thin and thinning hair, now I’m trying to grow healthier hair, but I have no idea what to use, and how to take care of my baby fine, short hair. Please, please , any advice 🙏🙏🙏 And thank you, I love your reviews ❤❤

Hey. The key to hair that grows long and healthy is to maintain you hair health. I don’t believe it’s necessary possible to make your hair grow faster directly. Just shampoo and conditioner (even on buzzed hair) if you feel like you want to add some leave in conditioner. Spray it in your hands 1-3x and spread it out and kinda just coat your hair. Drag your hands along it but don’t apply too much pressure because you also don’t want the leave in conditioner to be all up in your scalp.

Get a supplement called MSMs; they are a sulfur compound that are the base of B vitamins. My hair used to grow really slow and was thinning and after a month of taking those my thinning spots filled in and my hair growth increased by 50% a month. I love sulfates. I tried for so long to avoid them. I spent so much money trying sulfate free shampoos. Sometimes on first wash they’d feel good but on the second or third use I’d start to experience flakes and excessive oil. I finally gave up and went back to sulfates and all problems resolved. Now I rotate them, one wash with sulfates, one wash without and I find my scalp has stayed balanced, no more flakes and just regularly scheduled oil production.

@@sherihays4559 I work in healthcare and am very oily anyway (I’ve found this is how my scalp is regardless of what shampoo I use) so I do wash most days. Right now I am rotating Redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner and Shea Moisture Manuka honey and yogurt shampoo only with the Redken conditioner. Occasionally I use Kristin Ess clarifying shampoo and Redken Allsoft shampoo and conditioner. I have suffered hair loss over the years which I recently found from my derm is likely due to a vitamin D deficiency. Because my hair was thinning I avoided conditioners like the plague cause I felt they weighed down my hair but have now realized my hair is dull and dry. So oily scalp, thinning hair, and dry strands are the reason why I chose these shampoos and conditioners. The Redken volume injection is good for blowouts.

I have wavy/curly hair and the products that work best for curl definition and frizz have to have some silicones but best of all the poly quats for frizz taming! I just do a weekly clarifying shampoo and once a month or so the Malibu-C shampoo to ensure it's squeaky clean! I've tried all the natural and clean lines but without silicones and poly quats I have way less definition and more frizz and they don't hold up well during the week. I've just recently started watching your videos to help move along my hair care journey. My hair does grow fast and it's pretty strong but due to my work and hobbies it was constantly damaged in tight ponytails and rough buns. I decided this year I was going to focus on protecting it from damage. I got one silk scarf to wear under my hard hat at work and switched to braids instead of a tight bun, and I got cotton bandanas to wear to the barn, when cleaning, or when I've oiled my hair and have to run out and about (they are easier to clean). I also got a silk bonnet and silk scrunchies and joboba oil to work into my scalp and skin routine. I think between these my already healthy hair will flourish even more. The problem I do have is eczema, I need to find shampoos that don't dry out my scalp or cause inflammation while also not coating and weighing down my fine hair. Let's hope it goes well in the new year!

Hey Abbey!! I would love to see you review Marc Anthony's Rescueplex line! I spotted it in CVS the other day, says it repairs disulfide bonds so I guess it's trying to dupe Olaplex.

Try Aussie 3 minute miracle moist and Herbal essences classics rose hips conditioner next and thank me later 😛 (Pantene ampoules are great as well!!) I used to use these along with the Macadamia deep repair masque as fancy product back in the day, I had tailbone length hair and people thought I had hair extensions, an old lady at the store told me "That's so wonderful (my hair) you can climb on that" lol now my hair is not as great maybe because I heat style who knows.. but my hair thrives when I use drugstore products but I have this mental block since Olaplex appeared on the market! I only use them once every few months because I'm scared and I only use salon products 🤦🏻‍♀️

^ I started using Pantene shampoo again and honestly my hair hasn’t felt better in 3 years . In 2020 when I thought my hair was shedding more I upped my game to high end shampoo and conditioner…. And it didn’t help. Just in 2 weeks from going back to drugstore shampoo and conditioner my hair has felt so much better! Also I was so “strict” about staying away from “bad “ ingredients”. But you know what … we rinse shampoo and conditioner out of our hair anyhow! ( same reason why I don’t buy expensive face washes )But I do stay away from a few like ingredients like DMDM. Although with leave in products or oils/creams I look for higher end products 🤷‍♀️

Hi Abbey!! Huge fan and watch ALLLL of your videos. I had posted a request on one of your videos from 2021 and thought I'd ask you on a more current video as well. As you have been more comfortable recommending drugstore products, I was wondering if you could do a video on some affordable Frizz fighting options as the summer is nearly approaching :) Thank you :)

I have extremely oily hair. I use Neutrogena T-Sal Shampoo as a clarifying shampoo every 3 or 4 shampoos with the build up. But it does take time to work. It’s not a shampoo that you rinse out as soon as you put it in. You work it in then leave it in for “several minutes.” I use it on showers when I’m doing a full shave, not just shaving my underarms because it does take time to work. When I get in the shower, I put it in my hair first. Then wash my face & body, then shave. That takes a decent amount of time. Then rinse it out, condition my ends & rinse that out & I’m done.

The Garnier Pure Clean is the most moisturizing deep cleaning shampoo I’ve ever tried. I bought it with low hopes but was curious and it is mind blowing 🤯 I’m on my 3rd bottle and it makes my hair feel so clean and so hydrated and manageable with super light weight results and shine ✨ I would love to see your thoughts on it if you ever try it.

Have you tried the Dove Dermacare shampoo? My scalp feels so great after using it, and my hair is really clean but still feels soft. I also really love the light coconut scent. Since I tend to have dry/damaged hair, I make sure to use a conditioner throughout my hair and not only on my ends.

I started exploring drugstore products again while trying to save money (salon hair care is getting really hard to afford) I came across Revlon uniq one all in one hair treatment leave in conditioner to try to replace my it's a 10 and OMG it's so good. It smells amazing like perfume (it is strong so if your sensitive to scent you might not like it) but it makes my hair so soft no matter what shampoo/conditioner I use. Def comparable to me and much cheaper. :)

Abbey, I've been wanting to tell you - I never felt like the Olaplex Bonding Oil did much for my hair when I applied it to damp hair. Then one day, a section of my hair that is prone to being a bit drier and puffier felt like it didn't get enough conditioner in the shower. So, I thought what the heck, and I tried the a tiny bit of the oil on DRY hair and OMG! The portion that is problematic was instantly smoother, sleeker, shinier, and BONDED. Literally, any small splits (and there aren't many anymore thanks to K18) were completely bonded and smooth. I found a way to not waste this oil I bought over a year ago! This may be the trick to getting good performance from this oil.

It would be awesome to see you review the Ion haircare products sold from Sally’s. I randomly bought the weightless shampoo and conditioner, which works well for me and smells delicious. But Ion also has a hard water line and I know that the twin cities has pretty hard water

I tried the hard water shampoo and conditioner on my glass shower door to see if it would remove hard water mineral build up. It definitely did. It did change my hair, but my hair was too short to really test it out. I always wonder if the acid based bonding conditioners (like L'Oreal Bond Repair) are acidic enough to remove hard water minerals, because acid does do that. I guess I should try that on my shower door.

Wow, I am so glad I am not the only sucker for anything that includes Coconut Oil, I use the Loreal Ever Curl Shampoo/Conditioner and I love it, very good for thick hair curly hair like mine, it certainly does not give clarifying shampoo feel, but my hair is never stripped or dry after a use - I agree its not a clarifyer but so so nice for thicker damaged hair like mine

I wonder why brands like pantene and ouai.. brands ppl love the scent why they dont catch on and make a hair perfume.. kinda genius. My hair always smells so good. Yep agreed.. you can def use say curl cream on straight hair. . My son does and it keeps his frizz at bay.

Soapboxs' Mane Tamer is a good leave-in Conditioner from the drugstore, but hard to find sometimes. I also love Pantenes Gold Series styling cream, which I use as a leave-in. Do you know if they discontinued the Pantene Maricle Rescue Overnight mask? It's one of my favorite drugstore haircare products ever, but I cannot find it recently. It's truly a maricle product for dry or damaged hair!
