Allowing the wyches, at least, able to charge out of the transports would help them no end. Still can't believe space marines can do it out of their big dumb tanks but drukhari can't do it out of their purpose built assault raider!

I agree even though I’m a space marine player my first models were drukhari. What says space marines can instantly charge out of transports cause I’ve haven’t played 10th yet?

@@shogunender8752 assault ramp is the rule. Land raiders have it and I believe impulsors do too. Can disembark and charge after the vehicle has moved.

@@efinel impulsors don't. There's is a different rule that let's you disembark after it's advanced. Can't charge afterwards though. Only land Raiders do that.

My main issue with Drukhari is how they went from a diverse melee army with a spattering of effective anti tank on transports to a "oops all dark lances! Index" and its so sad. Also the loss of special weapons on wyches, removal of the renown troops really suck, archon not being able to lead incubi, forced 10 man squads on Kalabites and Wyches (unless you use a Venom), and other just...minor annoyances get to me. I started Drukhari with 9th edition and once that codex was balanced out after some time, god damn was it a cool army.

Dark Eldar 9th was the ideal example of intra codex balance. If GW didn’t rush out 10th edition we could have had longer with it.

@@linkofvev I’ve said repeatedly: Make dark technomancers roll a 4+ on flamers for overcharge Lower wyches and bloodbrides by 1ppm Wracks too I think Then they were almost perfectly balanced. Beside a few characters

A Drukhari list with 30 plus dark/void lance can reach a 45% win rate (with good players)... a more classical drukhari list with Incubi, hellions etc doesn't go over 20% winrate

Given just how bad their current state is, I don't know how GW "fixes" Dark Eldar without totally rewriting their index or outright breaking their datasheets/point costs. Honestly, the index feels like a symptom of a much larger problem with Dark Eldar - namely that GW seems to neither understand them or care about them. GW released an index with no synergies and borderline worthless mechanics, for a faction whose roster they don't even sell a sizable chunk of, and said to themselves "Yeah, we totally give a shit".

I would say, the current problem is that wynches are really bad. But the current detachment and stratagems, want all three groups to be efficient. If you do not bring all three, you losse at least 2 out of 6 stratagems. Best would be if they rewrote the wynches, but they will probably just dump their point costs, like they did with Votann. Meaning it will get a better win rate, but be no fun to play, until the codex comes out.

@@haraldbredsdorff2699 the wyches are probably one of the hardest up segments of the Dark Eldar roster right now (loss of advance and charge, invl saves, combat drugs, etc), but even if they weren't, you'd still have many of the same problems. Mechanically, there are three big problems with DE right now - pain tokens are an awful "win more, lose more" system (top level of the index is designed entirely around them, so you're screwed right off the bat), half your stratagems are just worthless - regardless of what you're running, and there is next to no synergy in the codex. A really good example of this is the case of the Archon. The Archon is a melee bruiser HQ, but you can only really put him with shooting kabalites and not other melee bruiser incubi. Even if this wasn't the case, his effectiveness would be diminished by the loss of the abilities connected to him while he sits in the safety of a transport for 1-2 turns (keep in mind that a lot of, if not most, 10ed games are decided by the end of turn 2). Edit: Worth a mention - most of the units not currently accessible by GW lack substitutes within the DE roster. Mandrakes are probably the best example, but it also extends to things like the grotesques and hero units like the sslyth, the lhamaean, and the beastmaster. While I realize that you can substitute the model via kitbashing, from a baseline accessibility standpoint (accessibility being what the entirety of 10ed is built around, mind you), this is by no means acceptable.

Well another issue is the success of Craftworld eldar, I feel they are very hesitant on wanting to buff Dark Eldar due to that would also buff craftworlders at the same time. Dark eldar really need their codex so that they can get good detachments and maybe finally put the final nail into the coffin that is ynnari.

@@Dereck1234 I've heard the Ynnari point made a lot in relation to the awful condition of 10ed DE, but I think the issue of soup needs to be addressed independently. In terms of raw stat lines, DE aren't wholly awful - in spite of the nerfs they took in the jump from 9ed. Ravagers especially are still extremely strong in isolation, which is why you see them included in soup lists. While the DE could use a pick-me-up in their stat lines here and there, their real weakness is in their mechanics and their total lack of synergy. Don't get me wrong though. I think Ynnari is a massive issue. It should have been given its own index and not just haphazardly slapped into the CWE index, with all the benefits that brings. Each of the three Eldar factions need to have their own set of rules with their own set of strengths, or else we're just going to end up in a situation where one faction (likely always DE) will eat shit because GW is too hyper-focused on balancing their one duo-faction.

My hope is that developers will trash this insult of a drukhari index and do it again without all the incoherencies and non sense and maybe add some fun to an army that in 9th was enjoyable to play

Data sheets need to be redone but not completely. They just need buffs to their profiles to give each unit a use and role. Grotesques at toughness 5 is a travesty for example. Likewise they need to change the army wide rule; make it like last editions, buffs stacking every turn. Real space raid would increase the round you are on on the table: don’t know why they changed the 9th edition power from pain it was good.

Here's a list that summarize the drukhari problems: 1) New fly rules ruined all the drukhari flying units: vehicles, hellions, Talos, Reavers and they also lost movement. 2) Archon/leaders don't work while in transports 3) Stratagems don't work on the vehicles or while in them, and 3/6 Stratagems are terrible 4) Drukhari lost a point of invuln save (almost no other army did but ALL of Drukhari lost it) 5) Leaders are limited, Haemonculus can't go with Grotesques, Archon can't go with Incubi, only Kabalites and he is a bruiser not a shooting HQ. 6) Major melee nerfs: Wracks: no AP, lack of attacks, not tough. Incubi lost WS, STR, AP and special rules. Hellions are not infantry so they can't get anywhere safely. Wyches lost all weapons, their sergeant, drugs, and Leaders are weaker. Grotesques they just die, no good invuln, no advance and charge for being weak, no leader bonus, lost a point of toughness and save. 7) Detachment Realspace Raid is worthless: extra pain tokens doesn't even matter, the worst detachment in the game. 8) Many things are still over cost and the best unit (ravager) went up so much it countered the costs that did go down. 9) With the new overwatch, a team of wyches or even a vehicle, can be taken out at a crucial moment and without the possibility of saving it with maneuvers as happened in ninth edition. 10) Anti infantry with STR 2-3 is only good into infantry and everything else is wounded on 6's. 11) Power from pain system is bad, it's a win more or lose more system. Are you winning? Cool you have more tokens than you need, are you losing? Well no token for you.

A quick note on Talos and their weapon selections: The haywire blaster is generally your best choice as it has devastating wounds and twin-linked, devastating wounds triggers on a 4+ (not a 6) when fired at a vehicle because of anti-vehicle 4+, so that's 3MW for each wounding hit. As you pointed out a ravager will frequently land around 7W on a vehicle meaning it is quite conceivable to finish it with two Talos armed with haywires. The big deal there is that will empower that Talos unit in every phase for the rest of the game.

Using Pain tokens to upgrade Stratagems could help them. For Example: 1CP: Reroll all failed Hit rolls in the Shooting phase upgraded with 1 Paintoken to: Reroll all failed Wound rolls against Infantry (or for 2 Paintokens against all modells) for one unit .

GW should give first S5 to the incubis, I’ve always seen them as terminator killers. Then concerning the wyches they should have 4 attacks each, a weapon profile with anti-infantry for the hekatrix + another one with S5 D2 for the succubs’vouge, a profile for the wyches’ special weapons and finally bring back the drugs : for example you chose a bonus on the ptofile with a second effect if they are empowered.: +1 attack with sustained hits if empowered, +1 strength with lethal hits or + 1 to wound if empowered or +1 1toughness with some fnp if empowered

100% they now just completely bounce off terminators since they lost the ability to spike up to 3 damage and now terminators are on a 4++ instead of a 5++... killing a terminator needs 2 failed saves = 4 successful wounds (saving on 4++) = 8 successful hits (wounding on 4s *with drazhar*)... a full unit of 10 incubi gets 30 attacks and kills 3-4 terminators. then drazhar kills 2 more. then the terminators swing back and splatter the elves

Their main issue is that their abilities/enhancements are mostly unusable when the leaders etc. are in transports and so would have to get out and be at risk of losing 1/4 of their army to actually get certain buffs, also the strat that uses all 3 cults is unusable most of the time for the same listed reason above.

We clearly need to re-balance the army/ make the Kabal gunboat style viable again. We could also do with making Ynnari allies work/ have really good synergies with the gunboats too." GW employee 2 says "Yeah we do have a billion Kabalite warrior kits lying around unsold in the warehouse. To be fair I did get told by management to make 'em as 'pay-to-win' as possible to drive up sales of the new Wrack and Lelith models when they came out in plastic. Not my decision mind, I'm just doing my job." GW employee 2 "Yeah I hope management doesn't force us to do that again. It's a real shame 'cos you had a lot of fun working on those books. You loved making making new rules and new flavour text for the units in those books." GW emplyee 1: "Yeah I know, I really really love Drukhari. I'm really passionate about them and all. But yeah, I'm looking forward to redressing the balance and making Gunboat Kabal lists good again." GW employee 2: "Yeah you're definitely the best person to do the job. You know them really well, you've collected them since 3rd edition, gave them the refresh in 2011. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them in 10th Edition." GW employee 1: "Yeah me too. Should take me a few months of rigorous playtesting to do it, but if I'm given enough time and management don't make any stupid decisions, I'm fairly confident I can make Kabals good without accidentally nerfing the Witches and Haemonculous Covens. Frankly, the good Drukhari untis seem to be ´better in Ynnari, where they benefit from their detachement and army rules (they have the Aeldari keyword, after all).

My thoughts on what they need 1) archon able to lead incubi and haemonculus adle to lead grotesques 2) vehicles have a 5+ invulnerable save 3) leader abilities work in vehicles 4) wyches have their wych weapons back and the old no escape rules 4) pain tokens giving +1 to hit instead of re-rolls to hit, possibly +2 to charges and advances 5) anti beast and mounted on splinter weapons Those changes and I'd be absolutely happy with the index

Agree on everything, just wanted to add bring combat drugs back. It was core to cults since DE were first introduced way back in 3rd edition, and its criminal that they got removed for a middling ability for the succubus.

Drukhari are pretty good in Ynnari lists. Bladestorm stratagem on anti infantry weapons, and unparalleled foresight on dark lances is tasty.

I just want the codex to make it viable to run nothing but coven units, I don't care much for the rest of the range but I love the body horror/mad doctor vibe of the covens.

Same dude, they really got kneecapped in survivability and even effectiveness. Grotesques in particular seem like a waste to even field with their pitiful profile. No healing unless you run Urien so screw any custom Haem or coven you were running last edition you're all Prophets of Flesh now. Just a big letdown from nearly every angle.

I have not played with them in a long time, but i like when they had the initiative rules, having 5, they got first hit on a lot, then with Lances but also the Agonizer, power weapon with auto wound on 4+. I loved using them to take on WrathLords back in the day.

All of the maths about killing marines with witches disappears with just a single burst of overwatch from the marines and one use of armour of contempt. There's a complete lack of AP across the army in a meta that is all about durability. This faction is literally impossible to balance without turning into the hordiest of hordes or inventing a terminator style unit for it.

i've read some arguments that with how the 'declare battle formations' step is worded, you can split a squad in a venom and a raider, and then add the court to the squad in the Raider to allow them to fit, but then the buffs dont go as far so its a double edged sword

Reducing the pts just gave me more sheet, when what I need is better sheet. It seems like 70% of the book was tailored to killing light infantry. Was GW only testing out battleline stuff when they made this book? The real space raid ability is awful when coupled with about 240pts of HQ tax, there's no value. Strike and Fade could've been a way to deal with how glassy we are now, but at 2CP it's much too expensive to consider. Alliance of Agony has so many ifs attached to it that maybe once per game, after the HQ tax, you spend a CP for 2 pain tokens, hard to say it's ever worth it. Further that idea, in what phase do I need re-roll hits for my kabalites, wyches and wracks? If your kabalites are in melee, you screwed up. Wyches charge in 30 attacks, 20 hits, 6-7 wounds, marines take 3 dmg, unless they play AoC, then it's 2... OMG game changing. I'd pay 60pts for that, maximum. Unless led, wyches do the same damage to marines as wracks in melee. Kabalites do have access to a lot of assault weapons so in theory they're probably the 2nd fastest unit in our book right behind scourge. Once incubi are kitted out properly (can hurt things in melee and get there), it's a 340pts unit, never earning their points back. As much as I love my incubi and Drazhar models and paint job they're a bit of a trap at this points cost. Yes they wound everything on 5s at worst. But -2AP 2d is to soft to make those hits count. Especially now that it's mostly impossible to reduce somethings abilities by wounding it. 2x5 Mandrakes in raider, kind of cheeky mortals fishing and then when transport is destroyed if they survive they fade away, not effective, but fun. Grotesques need to be T6 with 5 wounds and instead of fights on death the ability to heal D3 wounds, then if led by Urien, the abilities would stack. Also devastating wounds back on their weapons from last edition. The court of the archon when fielded they way they intended is a 270 pts, -1 to wound kabalite squad, with effectively double wounds. Buffing your shooting with lethal hits has some legs but I'm not convinced. If the courts restrictions were 1-3 of the four choices then there's some fun 3xSlyyth or 3xMedusas in Raiders, but that's not an option. A unit of 6xReavers with both of the upgrades can advance, use their ability, spend a CP to charge and with anti Inf 2+ on the sgts weapon, can just kill a 5man unit of marines. The only reason to take a jet fighter is because you already took 3 void ravens and somehow want more planes. Accurate review, this Index needs a complete redo.

I'm gonna reiterate this every time it's brought up: Without any unit ability on the transport, you can not embark a unit outside of the movement phase. That is how it has always been.

I believe Prince Yriel doesn't actually have the Anhrathe keyword. So you can't take him in a Drukhari army.

Perhaps a Feel No Pain option being included as a defensive option alternative for Power from Pain points could be a way to go to collectively sort of buff the army as a whole a little bit for starters?

My two combat patrols and two border patrol boxes are one of my winter projects after the semester ends. When DE were redone many years ago, I wanted to do a dark lance spam list - now that looks like the best option. LOL

The Drukhari situation is dire but not hopeless. The pain token mechanic is sound and there is hope that GW can fix the list. If feels like this Index was amongst the last to be written and all the good ideas went to our cousins. GW needs to do the following: 1. Finish writing the index by correcting the obvious errors & oversights: a. Archons should be able to lead Incubis (would make a change from Drazhar) b. Haemonculus should be able to lead Grotesques c. Archon 's OVERLORD power should be usuable from within a transport because Drukhari are Space Pirates at heart and come with their Space Pirate Ship (aka the Raider) so the rules should factor this. 2. Fix the Incubis and the Wyches a. Incubis should be S5 / AP -3/ D2 native. Their ability is useless because Battleshock is useless. Given them fight first instead if the charging enemy misses its Ld test. b. Wyches need Lethal Hit or Anti-Infantry native. Lack of Advance and Charge is a big nerf but this could be remedied with a Wych Cult detachment. c. Bring back Wych weapons to give them some options (something like anti-Monster which would be topical as they are supposed to fight in arenas). The models are nice and iconic. It is a shame that they bring no utility to the table. 3. Fix the transport tax a. As piratical raiders, Drukhari fight from transports and transports have become a point sink for them because a) they are too weak for their point cost (the Starweaver which costs the same as a Venom has a 4++) and b) they don't hit hard enough to make their point cost worthwhile. Either you reduce their cost drastically to Truk level territory because that is what they are basically (a cheapish transport) or you boost their invul to 5+ and give them a better melee profile so they gain some usage for their point cost. Also, let's bump the Raider to the Ravager stat lines because 2 differents stat lines for two models that looks the same is just a source of confusion. 4. Fix the Kabalites. a. One of each means that you end up with a kabalite squad that is unfocused. It can deal with many targets but does not have enough to make a difference. Instead of one of each special/heavy weapon let the kabalites chose 2 between Dark Lance / Splinter Canon and 2 between Shredder / Blaster. You could better tailor the unit to its role as anti-armour (2xDL + 2XBlaster) or anti-infantry (2xSC + 2x Shredder + Splinter Riffles). It would make Scourges less of an auto-include compared to the Kabalites. If you are afraid this is too powerful, limit that to the trueborns (one per army) or drop one of the heavy weapon choice for the pick of two special weapons of the same kind like the Voidscared. 5. Misc. a. Fix grotesques and wracks which are not tough enough / deadly enough for their point costs. Grotesque should be less tough than a termie (because faster movement) but not behind much. Wrack suffer from the same jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none syndrome as Kabalites. Tweaking their weapon options would help. b. Transform Reavers or even better fluff-wise, Helions, in an anti-bike role because we don't have anything to deal with bikes though we are supposed to be a speed freak faction which is weird. c. Bring down the cost of Talos because the gap with the Cronos is too wide. d. Given us a Lone-Wolf Character killer so we do not have to relly on Solitaires. Drukahris are supposed to be a bunch of murdering maniacs so they must have evolved their own form of Assassin guild.

Excellent overview. It's a right pain trying to come up with DE lists that don't look like they will melt under enemy shooting. I thinking creating a list designed to get an unassailable victory point advantage before they are wiped out may be the best way forward. Mandrakes for secondaries and forward pressure to disrupt the opponents early victory point game (Lilith with watches and beastpacks) combines with MSU shooting (lance spam). It's not pretty but it may have a chance.

I will never not respect the Archon's shadowfield save. My first game as Drukhari was against Imperial Knights. He survived 20 attacks from Canis Rex before the field gave out. 20. I will never be able to do that again but the image of this guy just lightly dusting himself off after Canis unloads into him with his fist for a couple fight phases will stay with me for awhile.

That's awesome. I don't fare so well, myself. I've counted the times I've used him in 9th and 10th as I remember from the old days of 3rd edition that I always seemed to fail on my very first save. Well, I've got 10 games in where he needed to makes saves, and sure enough, failed my saving throw on the very first throw, 8 of of the 10 times! I then failed one on my second throw, and one on the eight.

Archons are insanely easy to kill with Dev and Mortal wounds. Tank Shock, Grenades, MW on Charge etc... hard to bully with one these days

The one thing GW got right was the Power From Pain rule. Its gone closer to the original version that encourages playing like a Dark Eldar - sneaking around picking off the weaker units.

If Drukhari follow the 5 detachments in a Codex trend what can we expect to see? Realspace Raiders, a detachment for each of the subgroups? What would be the fifth? Currently, Ynnari kind of have taken some of the mojo away from Dark Eldar as both get powers through death and are very mobile. I wouldn't mind seeing a mechanic where Drukhari can deal themselves damage or use the hazardous key word on select datasheets to turbo charge their shooting/attacks. I think Drukhari should have stronger ways to force or play around with battleshock. That would be some real power from pain. Some new models would also be much appreciated currently there isn't much in the way of a centrepiece model.

I had a game that went so perfectly with every tactic playing off well and my Drukhari still couldn’t take the win, that’s when I knew they’re broken. The whole codex will need an overhaul to make it not a horde army

All the vehicles should get the 5++ back, Haemie could join Grots, Pain tokens could be used in activation (not in the start of the face) and for to re-roll hits or wounds or if you spend two, both. Plus, Covens stuff needs to be cheaper and proper strats, like fall back & charge/shoot, where´s that? We´ve had that in every single codex after strats became a thing...

i started playing drukhari in 9th edition - some thoughts - the detachment rule is worse than the 25pt art of pain enhancement - there are only 4 units that can ever use the prey on the weak strategem - the archon, kabalite warriors, and the court of the archon (which is really 1 unit), and the ravager. by the way the ravager gets a bonus for shooting at things that ARE at max strength. and the archon's unit rerolls hits and wounds against everything for a pain token. - no way to generate CP so it's impossible to use strike and fade on turn 1 if you go first :) - the strats are terrible - most of the best units are just as good if not better in ynnari - the best units by FAR are the ravager and scourge - the beastmaster also has the beasts keyword so he can go right through ruins. - an archon + court of the archon + 5 warriors (splinter rifles) while the 5 special weapons run around in a venom, is interesting and pretty dangerous. lethal hits + full rerolls is quite a combo - wyches, incubi, and hellions are among the worst units in the entire game - reavers are 70 pts for very fast moving OC6. ignore the rest of the rules (though the heat lance is really good in ynnari) - deep strike on transports + rapid ingress is very strong - 2 venoms can be used to split kabalite squads in half and then put both sets of special weapons into a raider to make ravager #4 and a really good fire & fade target - holy fuck the tantalus is so cool - use 3 venoms and fill the tantalus with triple dark lance/blaster etc - the voidraven is actually good - both scythes and lances are viable - lelith is like 95% as effective on her own as she is leading a squad of wyches. she and the succubus would both be great if wyches were good - well done to the winner of ratcon but this was an event where objectives could move randomly out from under people . . .

All I want is more flavor for the three technically four factions for drunkhari with better stratagems for the Kabalite/wyches/coven/all of them together then to really ring it home more units for wyches something very elite that is just great in melee against higher toughness targets and the kabalite need something with more wounds or toughness so they can actually hold objectives something like the black guard from fantasy where they are good at killing but are just really hard to take off the board so I can hold for more than a turn of oath of moment the covens it it would be nice to see more pain engines something heavy like a hydra from fantasy and then something light like a hoard so that it’s not just the one model wither you built it as a cronos or a talos

the only Drukhari games I've won so far were against Tyranids and a Custodes game where I had all the luck and deleted half of the opponents army turn one. my list is a fully packed Tantalus/3 Venom combo, a wrack/Urien blob with Talos support and the classic Scourges/Ravager spam my biggest problem is the lack of AP and that we have absolutely no options against mounted. maybe give every Anti-Infantry 3+ an Anti-Mounted 4+ in addition so you don't have to waste DL shots

in my last game vs demons my opponent had a unit of 3 Tzeentch Screamers and i was like how the fuck do i kill this shitty 80pt unit T4, 3W, 4++, beast keyword. dark lances? sure, if there's literally nothing else to shoot dark lances at, go nuts. probably your best shot bc you can kill it in 1 activation if you're lucky, otherwise, this 80pt unit will suck up like 3 ravager activations. splinter fire? lmao sure good luck shredders? what can even take these? scourge? sure... 4d6~14 shots~9 wounds~4 failed saves... kills 1 screamer base

So if you´re a Drukari player, you can just say i play Yinari take Yvraine and from there on out you could take, 1kpts of Drukari and then field the rest with whtatever Aeldari units you like? Fire Prisims, Wratih Knights whatevery you like yes? Would you still get the power from pain stuff or is this something entirely new then?

Yes but you can't take Phoenix Lords; Avatar of Khaine; Solitaire or Haemonculus Covens. And no power from pain but you can use the Aeldari detachment rule on Drukhari units. (Although not the Aeldari faction rule).

I’m still getting my head around the Druhkari, but I feel like your assessment in here is not 10E Druhkari from a strategy perspective. Yes you’re talking about the 10E rules and you have a really good handle on the core of those, but in terms of how to assemble a force and manoeuvre it on the board I’m not so sure. For example, you downplay Talos in your assessment of them, but the list you have for an event winning one had 2x2, and another list won a small event 5-0 with 3x2 and no Ravagers at all (admittedly after you posted this video on the later). That said, Wyches need Anti-Infantry on their weapons and as a whole a way to Disembark and charge would help the effectiveness of the traditional melee side of the army. They’re undeniably in a weak spot at the moment, and getting into them isn’t exactly easy due to poor model availability or just raw cost (see Talos units).

I have a large Drukhari collection and it's my only 40k army. Tbh, I've been playing One Page Rules grimdark instead of 40k and it's been really fun. I've been enjoying the i-go-you-go activations, faster games, no treadmil to keep buying/painting, model flexibility, terrific army builder app, and free rules. Would recommend

I still can’t believe they increased the points on our best unit the ravager because ANOTHER army was using it too successfully, never mind considering how it would affect drukhari though. Dark lance spam is soulless and boring, gives us other options, improve wyches, let the archon join incubi, make hellions worthwhile in some way, give us better fear mechanics to obtain pain tokens, give us some way to work around overwatch. There are so many basic things they could change to open up more list builds for the army. I don’t even care as much about overall win rate if it just means a boost to the win rate with dark lance spam only…

There are so many good ideas on this Codex, but there are even more bad ones. For example, Warriors were buffed with all their special weapons and a buff to splinter rifles. Love that change. Wracks to got all their weapons for free, where before no one used them cause they were too expensive. At the same time Wyches had all their weapons removed and weren’t replaced with a better generalist profile, which they should have gotten. Then for some reason they change the power from pain rule, which everyone loved last edition. Why they did that I’ll never know.

Can someone explain this If a model has both Invulnerable save and Feel no pain- can I use both? as in: I fail normal save, I fail invul save & then I use and save it with feel no pain. Is that valid?? Can't for the life of me find it anywhere written that it can't or can.

It's a choice of normal save OR invulnerable save, you use the best of them. Feel no pain comes after so yes, you roll that after failing the first one. You could say fail a normal save and then go on to pass a feel-no-pain and take no damage

It is, and in 9th I’d tell you to try just with the combat patrol and then look around. Now if you buy the combat patrol, 1 unit is worthless and the other ones are the only way to play drukhari (not only as “you’ll win if you do this”, it’s a “if you take this, you won’t have fun because of how bad this unit is, nor even see a glimpse of winning”) The box is still a great price and maybe they’ll rebalance the melee to be more hybrid, not just t’au with spikes.

@@spoonsrattling meta chasing isn’t really the thing I’m talking about, and isn’t what I want either. I played drukhari the last 6 months of 9th and I was losing but having fun. Now I just make the same army if I ever want to play them, because the melee is atrociously bad to play with. It’s not that it’s unviable to take incubi/wyches, it’s that it’s actually fun reducing because they hit like wet noodles when they should be at least slicing one unit.

I am so disappointed. All that made Drukhari cool and unique has gone! I always loved the three-themed army, all three themes with different roles, but still harmonizing with each others in rules and background... Now most good things are gone and the only way to play them is by spamming Dark Lances...

It is sad to see that the Drukhari models play better as Ynaris than Drukharis. It is a sad state of affaire when you have to borrow another faction's index to remain competitive. Though GW might not appreciate it, I as a Drukhari player do not want to play Aeldari by choice. I get it that the Ynari is the ploy by which GW wants to temp me to play Aeldari but that is not what I want. It is therefore a shame that Drukharis get nerfed simply because boosting them would indirectly boost the Aeldari as well and they need no help. Maybe the solution would be to make Drukhari units more expensive for Aeldari armies to break the link between the two factions? After all the utility you get from a unit depends on the Detachement and Faction rule. Strand of Fate on a heat lance is absolutely deadly. Why should the model cost the same point wize ?

Drukhari are only playable at 1k points tbh Their movement on a full table is bonkers. Even then, it's still swingy and reliant on actually dealing damage with dark lances most of the time.

ive been playing only dark eldar since 9th and i havent been having issues in 10th the issue is most people dont have the models and dont want to play the way that works ive been bringing 35 wracks in 6 units and 11 dark lances in the list i think scourges are a waste of points and 2 cronos is overkill and the art of pain enhancement is a crutch play msu dark eldar only bring venoms to split kabbalites and raiders are only good for rapid ingressing lelith + wyches as a terminator tar pit this army plays way different than it did but its very effective if you lean into the mechanics the index gives you

the things IS that you have to spam dark lance to be at least ok else you to nothing cause your army will be wipe early and you don't have the power to kill anythings. What I try to explain is you only have ONE way to play this army with max 4-5 different units, anyone else are useless. Spamming one type of weapons (cause it's the only way to play) when you have dozens available is ABSURD (and prove how BAD the GAMEDESIGN is).

I don't understand why they took an extremely fast melee army and turned it into a weaker version of the Craftworld Aeldari. What they did to wyches was awful, they are an absolute joke of a unit now, against a basic 5 man squad of intercessors, a unit of 10 wyches should average about 1.5 dead marines on the charge, loosing 3 of their number in return. And the wyches cost more, can't shoot worth a damn and are vastly squishier. I don't get how GW looked at the 9th edition wyches and said "lets remove their combat drugs", "and lets remove their special weapons", "and lets remove the faction rules that buff them in melee like advance and charge" "and lets remove the faction rules that make them nastier in close combat", "and lets let them only be taken in 5 and 10 man squads". And then think that they have made a good transition to 10th for this unit.

I played Dark Eldar my first time in warhammer. And would love to play them again, but the only even remotely viable lists I ever see played is just like nothing but Dark Lance spam packing as many as possible into a list. Just seems ultra narrow if you don't want to get plowed.

with 3500+ pts+ of drukhari, as far as im concerned 10th doesn exist. zero reason to play my army now and its completely ended my interest in playing 40k. the army is straight up neutered. the sad part is i can tell from the rules that our codex will be okay, but they just stripped out all of the good stuff from and called it our index, im not llikely to wait 2 years for the hope they stop sucking. worst part is because they are so shit the army is impossible to sell so i cant even recoup my money.

If GW is aiming at creating lists that contain no "always include" and no "never take" options then Drukhari are undoubtedly the biggest failure of a list in this regard. Literally the entire list is either "always include" or "never take". Things like Kabalites, Ravagers, Scourges and Talos/Cronos are reasonably priced and efficient (Wyches after the points cut are OK with Lelith, Mandrakes are OK for redeploy rules). Basically everything else is over costed, under powered or both.

This index is the proof that game designers do not test and do not have independent review. This is completely inconsistent with both previous editions and other factions. Pure amateurism from a company that takes pride in selling expensive miniatures but still see rules as a leaflet to sell plastic.

not gonna lie, i feel that the "competitive" part of this game has been a joke ever since the mid of 9th ed. and now 10th feels like a rushed halfbaked game, pretty much 80% of the units in all of the index are underwelming and you stay on float by spaming the 2 or 3 good units or weapons that you have.

Why not Deathwatch? Every other unique chapter, poor Deathwatch has come and gone since the beginning of 10th and usually only get a passing mention in other videos, WTF does Auspex Tactics have against the Deathwatch ☠️

Probably just a player count thing. Less people play Deathwatch, so their video comes out later.

deathwatch is pretty much just space marines, so it makes sense that other bespoke factions get their video first
