ANDREW!!! I just popped over to watch some new stuff. I had no idea you did a new video on me. As always, I really appreciate the nice words. This was an older track from a previous band. As you stated, I just wanted to put out a video of me playing drums (without the antics). However, I will certainly be tossing some in on future videos. It's taken me a LONG time to entertain the idea of making videos. I never bothered, as there were thousands of videos of me already. But I'm going to be a lot more active on KZfaq in the future. Again, you're a jewel my friend. You have such a positive vibe on your channel. Hopefully we can schedule a meeting, interview, podcast or something in the very near future. I think it would be a lot of fun. 🙏

I met him at the Sarasota drum festival a few yrs back. Funny and very personable guy. Great drummer. No tricks in this video but he’s a real genius trickster!

That kit was perfectly tuned for "rock" drum sound. Those double base and tom tom - really punchy 👊 sound. Good stuff Mr. Rooney + Mad Drummer

If you look closely in between his legs..there is bleeping shadow effect by those double paddle hit...it similar to LED bulb gain build in Marshall amp !!! But this guy make it natural !!!

Love his work, He's such a unique tight drummer. I'd like to see other drummers try to imitate his style, because there are drummers who would look at the Mad Drummer and laugh without seeing the brilliance of his technique.

I watch once in a while that guy Mad Drummer, I get hooked. ADHD, I usually watch things two 3 minutes then on I go. But between Mad Drummer and SRV. It is hard to flip to something else

I saw Steve on three occasions when he was with Rick and the Allnighters at the Evansville Casino. Sitting ten feet away was a show in itself. I talked to him during one of his breaks and he was cordial. I told him that I had seen bands with some of the best drummers in the world ie Zeppelin Rush ...and he was above them. I told him that he would be a great replacement if Neil Pert retired. This video doesn't do him justice.

really tight drumming; You could also check the German drummer Simon Schröder; especially his Porcupine/Gavin Harrison covers (Harridan, jummy :) ) and solo's. I think plays very tight, accurate and musical. He also makes good use of the sound of his kit and applies proper dynamics.

Mics visible in kick ports. Mics visible inside Toms. You can the white cables coming out of toms. He mounts inside Toms for better isolation.

Hi, love you channel 👍 This drummer is more than nice imo. What his doing is pretty danm hard plus the song is high intensity non stop to the end. Saw a vid where Steve is playing & Portnoy just jumps in and up stages him , didn't really like it. Then Mike starts throwing his hands around pretending to be Steve, It's not cool.
