Francisco Roseta Vaz Monteiro Sure. In the video, when Larnell is about to start writing down notes on paper instead of making mental notes in his head, he says, “The shortest pencil is longer than the longest memory.” What he means by that is, it’s important to take notes on paper and not just take mental notes. While the pencil you’re writing with might be very short, the words that you put down on paper will last as long as you keep the piece of paper. A person’s memory, on the other hand, doesn’t last forever no matter how good their memory is. Did that help? He’s talking about the words that a pencil can write on paper; even a short pencil. I really like the meaning. He’s saying how important it is to write stuff down when preparing to play a new song. If you write it down you won’t forget. I hope that helped. If not let me know and I’ll try again.

Wouldn’t trade it but at the same time only because I see the end blessings God has brought through holding onto Christ, especially with endurance and patience and humility and sacrificial love, even if my ex never seemed to possess those qualities, or even if others think I don’t. God is faithful in all things and at all times, even when people aren’t, even when the “evidence” of this world and the fools in it seems to show otherwise. God bless and God speed.

Ashton Lyons - you’re both right because thousands of hours of practice still doesn’t necessarily result in that level of talent. He has definitely practiced forever as you suggested but he also has an extremely high level of talent. A good example is I could practice all of the same basketball drills as Lebron James but my lack of talent would never result in my playing like him. Even if I practiced three times as long as he does.

Talent and anointing are two very different things. People who are anointed preach the gospel, heal the sick, feed the poor, and love the unloved. It's a lifestyle generated by the Holy Spirit. You people need to read your Bible and stop rehashing the laungo found in the "black church".

Snarky Puppy recorded their album "We Like It Here" with an audience wearing headphones inside the studio. Their regular drummer, Robert "Sput" Searight, forgot to renew his passport and didn't realize it until he got to the airport and wasn't allowed onto the flight. They called Larnell at the last minute, and he learned the entire album ON THE PLANE from Toronto to Amsterdam! He arrived at 7:00 AM, went straight to the studio to setup his drums, had a rehearsal with the band that afternoon, and played two shows that evening. They ended up doing three more nights in a row of two shows every evening and he absolutely KILLED IT, so I'm not surprised that he was able to do this with such ease! Check out the album if you haven't. It's great!

@@justinslogar5770 bruh, I'm a drummer. I've been pounding sticks for over 20 years. I give respect where its due. I have a bachelors in music from the UofA and I teach bass guitar lessons. And yes, there's a difference between a drummer and someone who's a full on musician. Somebody can play half ass a couple songs and say they're a drummer. A musician is someone who studies the music, listens to the beat pattern, listens to scales, breaks it down (music comprehension) listening to a song once and playing it perfectly is a musician. Rewinding a dozen times trying to play it, that's just a dime store drummer.
