The very early days when they were playing in clubs, they had a few guys standing around the drum riser and a rope and pulley type of device and during the end of that song these guys would each be pulling these ropes raising, I wouldn't call it 'levitating' lol, the drums which were kinda shaky on the way both up and down since they had no way of knowing what was actually going on so it wasn't synchronized at all. The funniest part was when they approached the very low ceiling, it was a small club in a hotel remember, called a club because it had tables, chairs and of course alcohol, LoL, Pete would have to duck down lower and lower while still performing or trying to, LoL 😆 Hadda Live that!!! "Guys... GUYS!!! HEYYY!!! Not the only time they had a malfunction though, Gene would have a harness hooked to his costume that when pulled would lift him up into the lights and deposit him on a platform where he would sing God of Thunder... Hopefully, LoL. One night the cable tangled in the winch device like they sometimes do and stopped 3/4 of the way up. He motioned down, then DOWN!!! So they started to lower it but it again hung up about 6' lower most definitely NOT a happy Demon. Close ups showed the look of intense fear in his face. Eventually, they did get him all the way up and on the platform though. I don't think he HAS to take the cables back down. If so, nor after that night I'd bet. Check KZfaq for the clip. It's on there. Nobody misses anything these days.

Kiss was a huge inspiration for Rammstein, who, because they were on the Soviet side of the Berlin Wall, could access their music via bootleg recordings and when they were able to surreptitiously listen to forbidden western radio. They loved the music and the theatrical performances. Years later, Rammstein supported Kiss on their 1999 Latin American tour, and the rest is history. Today, Rammstein has gained a worldwide fan base through their unrivaled musicianship and insane live performances. Thank you, Kiss! ❤

YEP. KISS 1973-1977 was a hungry beast, raw and dangerous rock n roll. When they put imposters in Ace and Peter’s makeup, they became a tribute band. For more of Peter’s voice, watch ‘Hard Luck Woman’ performed on Paul Lynde’s 70s Halloween Special. It’s enjoyable to get a person’s first watches of the real KISS. A lot of people use them to build their platform. For me, Stryper’s the Christian equivalent of KISS with decades of great music. If you want your mind further blown, check out ‘Transgressor’ ‘Do Unto Others’ ‘To hell With The Devil’ ‘The Way’ and ‘Soldiers Under Command’ . LET’S GO!

This right here is why the Kiss Alive album was a huge hit for them and made their career. The old day (1970's) Kiss with the original line up had so much energy and attitude. It was a fun concert experience. After the Destroyer album, the only thing really worthy is the post make up single Domino.

Yeah, they all can sing. Ace was reluctant at first but eventually took the lead on Rocket Ride, Shock Me, 2000 Man and more. They wanted him to sing Cold Gin back in the day but he didn't feel comfortable so he left it to Gene. During the reunion tour Ace sang the second verse, making me wish he'd done the lead on that one all along. For a different sound by Peter, check out "Hard Luck Woman." For something closer to this, check out "Nothin' To Lose."

I'm here to tell you that Kiss set the standard for show man ship! The one thing I loved about this band throughout the years was the ability for all members to sing lead. There is NO other band out there where one of the four members would sing lead. NONE!! I've been a Kiss fan since 1975 when I was 5 years old. NO band can match their ability as a band.

Saw them as a ten year old kid in 1979 in Roanoke, VA during the Dynasty tour. Then caught them again in Roanoke in 1996 during the reunion tour. Rock and Roll Over is probably my favorite Kiss Album.

Kiss’s first 3 albums were phenomenal!!!!!!! I don’t care that the critics called them simple and that they were just a gimmick. Jimi Hendrix said life was a gimmick!!!!! Watch KISS in 1975-76 pre Destroyer concert and they blow the roof of the place . Strutted, Firehouse , Cold Gin , Watching You are bad ass songs . I went from KISS to Zeppelin and I was in love with R’n’R from then on . Rock on brother.

Glad to see you enjoying the Kiss songs, there are many more to go, all of their 70s records were really good and the 80s stuff was pretty good also.

When they were clawing their way up, they played with a very different intensity. And yeah, Pete had a great, raspy rock and roll voice perfect for that era. Years later, Paul would write a song called "Hard Luck Woman" and when I used to listen to it as a 7 year-old, I always wondered why they wanted to record a song with Rod Stewart on vocals. Well, it was Peter singing the song and years later I found out that Paul had intended to turn the song over to Rod when it was finished, but Peter said "no way" and claimed it for himself.

It was said that Peter had quite a temper at times. He was spooked by an explosive that went off way too close to his drum kit and it sent him into a rage that made him thrash his drum kit.

Paul was always upset that Peter didnt write songs but always wanted to be singing lead. He would further get frustrated by their producers who thought Peter also had the better voice and would insist that they let him sing a song.

Suggestion? Look at the video of kiss at Anaheim stadium 1976 black diamond version or Madison square garden 1977 ...they add a little tweak to the bridge and the energy will give you goose bumps.

This is awesome! YOU are the only guy doing these bro...this was when I discovered KISS, I was in 5th grade and my parents let me stay up and watch the Midnight special haha.. Peter Criss had such a great voice, Rod Stewart was his idol and he tried to emulate him! He also sings "Hard Luck Woman" "Beth" (of course) "Baby Driver" and "Strange Ways"..and a few others. GREAT singer..

@@setonhillstudios Dude for sure! Their early stuff is SO heavy so killer. You asked at one point..THEY ALL SING!!? Yes, they do. The original intention of the group was to be like the Beatles. All four members sing, all for members write songs. But, it took years before they could get ACE to sing haha. But, he did write some one of their best songs early on...PARASITE! Check out the Live version from (live in San Francisco 1975) it's a hell of a rocker, it's from the Album Hotter than Hell. In a nutshell this is what happened with them. They put out three initial studio albums. Kiss, Hotter Than Hell, Dressed to Kill...but they did not sell very well. They were not recorded very well, but ppl were flocking to their shows! So, as a last ditch effort they decided to do a hail mary and did a LIVE album, recorded in Detroit! I am from Detroit, I was not old enough to go, I was 12 but many of my friends older brothers and sisters went to the show! The album BLEW up! they became the BIGGEST band in the country after that....then though, their next album they took a completely different direction and hired Bob Ezrin to Produce it. He had done a bunch of Alice Cooper albums. He was great, but he changed their sound and ALL the OG Kiss fans hated it haha...but still a great album, Destroyer. When you get a chance check out some stuff from their 1975 Cobo Hall shows in Detroit, that is the stuff that went onto KISS Alive album. Here is the link for the Winterland show in SF! Sorry for rambling, I love OLD Kiss....thx man I'll be watching! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ot6Vd5eX0rOXY6c.html
