On July 25, 2022, a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing a disabled vehicle in Sparta, WI. While speaking with the male driver, the deputy noticed his slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. It was later determined he was operating while intoxicated after performing tests and providing a sample of his breath. When the deputy attempted to take him into custody, the male pulled away and ran off into the darkness.

Why do they do the sobriety test? I think it's useless. I tried to do it sober but I lost my balance. Why not skip it and give them the breathalyzer test which is the most accurate anyway?

They had every right to. He escalated this way beyond where it needed to be and made MULTIPLE threats against the officers life. He's lucky to be alive. As a Floridian, if you threaten me or my family on my property, you won't be expedited to prison. You'll get sent straight to hell. This officer was BEYOND reasonable. He could've contracted AIDS. That isn't curable and the officer he bit looked young, he maybe had 10 years in the kid. I'm 19 and I've got more self respect and respect for others than this clown. It's astonishing that he got as far as he did while being that intoxicated.

I mean, I don't drink, but from what I've observed in many people is that alcohol doesn't change people, it just brings out their strongest qualities. In most of the cases the negative ones. So, I'm quite sure this character isn't the nicest person out there even when sober.

@@retroguy9494 It's because of the body armor and equipment. It doesn't matter how much training you have, you won't be able to outrun a drunk younger dude who is hopped up on adrenaline and who knows what else while you are carrying all that weight. Knowing this generation of young people he could easily be on one or more prescription uppers. Even the military struggles with weight vs effectiveness. Unfortunately, one of the side effects of modern ammunitions means body armor requires more mass, which requires more energy to move. It's not a sad state of anything, it's physics. Is anyone else always impressed with the cops ability to chase people down wearing all that gear. I mean the guy got away the first time but he almost had him and that kids built like the greasy deaf guy from family guy.

In the medical field we times it by two or three. Patience typically lie or they have lost track. In some cases themore they drink the more they lose count and time.

I don't blame him for being pissed. He was already on edge about his car breaking down but he was fully cooperative and did fine on his field sobriety. It just seemed like the cop wasn't gonna be satisfied until he was able to arrest him. Shit like this will make someone distrust law enforcement for the rest of their life.
