Found within Xanathar's guide to everything you will find the monk subclass Way of the Drunken Master, a take on the classic Kung-Fu style of Drunken Boxing. You know where we go from here right? That's right we will be deciding on what MTG Color philosophy found within the color pie fits this sub class. This episode will be a little different and we will just be choosing the core color of this subclass as the monk itself will have its own full video.

So what's your favorite sub class in DnD?

I really like the flavour of the Oath of the Watchers Paladin. Together with Order Clerics I instantly think of a character with a blue-white allignment. One of my favorit combinations.

Bard's College of Creation. Anything they want will come to existence. Anything they want will become alive. They are free from any logistics or practicality. College of Creation is THE Temur subclass of 5e and what I am sucker for.

See, when he said “what’s the first color you think of when you think of luck”, _my_ first thought was immediately Red. Think of classic Rogue Characters like Han Solo. How much of what he accomplished could be boiled down to a gamble and hoping for some good fortune? I’d call that a very Red thing.

I like to imagine for the brewer's supplies, is that you can also make beverages that appear to be alcoholic, but in fact are not - further adding to the deceptive nature of the drunken performance. Taking a big swig of what looks to be beer but it is instead meant only to mimic its taste and appearance, while secretly being focused and refined, fits perfectly with the motif of this subclass in the first place

I feel like artificer would be an interesting dnd class to apply the color pie to. The malleable nature of it seems like it’d call for some interesting combinations.

Cool video, your view on this helped me solidify it as my sub-class for a monk. Before I wanted skills/bonuses that mimc more of the Jackie Chan film, but your view helped me see a way to RP my character in that way, while also taking the mechanics as written to help craft the personality of my character and where I'd like to take them during a campaign.

I would say that the drunken master is blue red, as I see the hold concept of a monk aligning with blue. As monk tries to perfect their body and mind. And here is where the fun start. Drunken master perfect themself so that when they need to act they don't need to think, they just let lose and follow their emotions and instint

To be a monk in general you have to passionate enough be willing to go through with all that entails, I don’t think red would be unusual for monks at all.

Green would be the color of true luck. Destiny guides life, so luck is not on my hands, but in what has to happen.
@DiceTry
@DiceTry 2 жыл бұрын
That is an interesting perspective, it is valid for sure, but I suppose it all comes down to how you look at it. I think Green would agree that luck comes from fate or life playing out as it should. While Red would look at luck as the randomness of the universe, more proof to just do what comes natural. To me luck, in the concept related to games like dnd, is pure random luck and thus I consider it Red in this instance.
@lucassmith7770
@lucassmith7770 2 жыл бұрын
I would think green is luck based on the universe and nature. If you take the risk of running on rocks to cross a stream, you will either succeed or slip and fall in. There is a indifference between the person and the consequences. Just as anyone could slip. Red in my mind then is luck based on interactions. You bump into someone, there is a chance they will let it go or it can start a brawl. Either that or there is more danger in it. When someone purposefully puts themselves into more danger in the hope that it will pay off. There is a more direct connection between the person and the consequence, since if their luck fails then it was their own actions that made the outcome worse.
@DiceTry
@DiceTry 2 жыл бұрын
I think this does make a lot of sense but like I said above it depends how the colors themselves would view it. Both Green and Red are valid but for different reasons. One is nature the other chaos

@@DiceTry I actually think the fact that both Red and Green can be interpreted as the colors of luck is an extension of having the same enemy: Blue. Of all colors, Blue is almost certainly the one color that would *not* be associated with luck: it wants to control and manipulate all variables so that it can assuredly obtain its desired outcome, and is the one color that is scared to leave things to chance. Red will follow its impulses wherever they go and always hope they get lucky, something Blue is too logical and cautious to allow. Green understands that the world is the culmination of cycles and random cycle breaks, and embraces that, as destiny lead us here, something Blue would rather control in hopes of creating its ideal world. Red and Green's forms of luck represent the variables that Blue wants to control

Hello Dicetry, I really loved your video, I have always liked this fighting style since I saw it in classic Dragon Ball when I was little, I have followed you for a long time and it is the first time that I am encouraged to comment. I love your tricolor videos and I am loving your class videos. Continue like this c: Offtopic - One doubt, I'm making a custom edition with cartoon characters. And I ask myself the question about what color identity do you think Squidward from the Spongebob series would have?

Couldn't it also be Red/Blue because Red when mixed with Blue is creativity thus the creative way of fighting?
@ODDnanref
@ODDnanref 2 жыл бұрын
But red blue lacks an ability to focus. Both Izzet and Prismari lack the ability to focus on one thing and train it for years. I think you would have to add white, so that it can push it a bit more on the focus side of things. The balance required to maintain a focus and the patience to repeat one move until it is perfect. There is a reason why Jeskai clan was made to be monks. Ones that not only seek the perfection of mind and body, but also emotion.
