When I got into 3D printing I started to notice the beauty in the design of objects wheras I had previously taken this for granted, designing something yourself increases this 100 fold!

Great intro for people who thought maybe it was beyond their ability! It seems Tinkercad still requires some practice, because some of the techniques you showed aren't trivial to comprehend, but still I think a person starting from zero knowledge of CAD to making something simple and useful is probably less than a couple hours of "tinkering" (pardon the intended pun) with the tool. Watching a few Tinkercad intro videos would no doubt help as well.

It took my 66year old brain to get the workings of Tinkercad but once I got the lightbulb moment, I am remastering stl's with little to no issues and have designed my own stuff that fits what I want

Tinker and is excellent for getting started in 3d cad but as you get more ambitious you need a better parametric CAD program. I certainly feel very empowered designing and 3d printing just about any spare part I need or realising my own design ideas.

I agree. I am a big fan of FreeCAD for home use, specifically because it is fully parametric and free.

I'm designing things on Tinkered, but when I move them to Cura, the objects are not watertight. Is there something I can do as I'm designing in Tinkered to make sure they are watertight?

Hi Irv I'm new to the whole 3d printing but plan on use it to make templates for sand casting how would I go about doing more detailed items eg a photo of a deceased family pet and turn it 3d so that I can sand cast an aluminium statue of my mother in law and wife's childhood dog who sadly died last year

I have 2 different printer I inherited one I had working and now it won't touch the bed. The other I can get connected. Is there someone or a group that I can reach out.
