So glad you talked there’s no such thing as a stage 2 faja (because i had been fretting about this but now I won’t because of this video) and more important, about the detriment of wearing a faja for longer than 3 months because before i saw your videos, i saw BBL KZfaqrs stating they were or are currently wearing their faja for 5,7, 9 even 12 months post op. They were also recommending that their viewers do the same because it’ll supposedly get the better results. I had already made up my mind that i guess my results will stop at 3 months because there’s no way im wearing a faja for over 3 months and this video actually affirmed my decision so thank you! Main difference between stage 1 & 2 faja’s are stage 1 has a little more give/ stretch to it. Stage 2 is more firm material and much less give. This is why you will see garments labelled either stage 1 or stage 2. Also, a lot of the stage 1 faja’s have zips (not all, but a lot of them).

As a MT that is just starting her track into the post surgical world I found this video super helpful for the ins and outs of this procedure. Word of caution though, I was trained in Lymphatic Drainage but no where in massage school is there training for open wound fluid expression post surgery. The woman I'm working w now, my first post surgery client but not her first surgery, said that a nurse at the post surgery wellness center did her fluid expressions the first few days after. So my main point, if you have a procedure and purchase a massage package (even w a post op therapist), ask about fluid expression so you aren't disappointed. Granted that only lasts the first few days. Lymphatic work in the first weeks of the inflammatory phase is super important to healing faster though. Happy snatching🙏✨🔥
@daniellemurray1987dm3 жыл бұрын
When you say fluid expression post surgery what do you mean?
@annboone113 жыл бұрын
@@daniellemurray1987dm It's also called incisional massage. There are many who are doing this and it's not in their scope of practice. This is a technique in which the therapist/nurse expresses draining fluid through your incisions. Look up Coraito/squeeze lady on Instagram for videos on what this looks like.
@lovelykay3614 Жыл бұрын
im also a mt and in CA you can NOT perform fluid expressions super illegal you can lose your license
@idafriedman1449 Жыл бұрын
Came here to say this. Lymphatic drainage moves fluid through the bodies own lymphatic system then it’s eliminated as urine. Expressing/draining fluid through open incisions is outside scope of practice in (I believe) every state that has massage certification/licensing. If dr wants the nurse to do it, fine. What is coming out at that point is the tumescent fluid put into the body before surgery (yes Dr?) So remember, massage therapists can (and have) lost their licenses-especially in Florida- for doing this procedure. Real lymphatic drainage is light, relaxing, and moves fluid out through the lymphatic system.
@Shrimp459 Жыл бұрын
@@idafriedman1449wow thanks for explaining this because I have seen some people say your not suppose to reopen the wound and some have said drains the wounds meaning drainage coming from the wounds. Massage therapist can't work on the open wounds. How professionally can this massage be performed? As a massage therapist I suggest those massages at doctor's supervision. What do you think?

Im trained LMT in Florida and trained in post Op mld and we do not push fluids out. We avoid incision areas until they heal. Fluid will naturally start to leak out of those incisions as we are doing mld but legally we are not allowed to reopen and force fluids out. If that needs to be done I refer them back to their surgeon.
