Dry food seems to be the most suggested food to feed your pets, but why is this? With wet food also being an option, it’s best to understand the differences between the two, so you can give your pet the most beneficial option.

People are attracted to the convenience but don't realize that ALL food, when left out, can grow bacteria, mold, and rancid fats. Even kibble! Polyunsaturated fats oxidize and turn rancid very quickly. Additionally, some people take the food out of the bag and put it into a plastic container. Or keep the bag completely open. The bags are designed to (try to) help keep food fresher. But as soon as oxygen hits, oxidation takes place.

People don’t think you’re weird for feeding your cat wet food. People think you’re weird because you announce it-“sorry, we have to leave now. We have to go feed our cat”. Most people just say “I’m sorry, I have to leave now. It was nice seeing you and we’ll see you next time” and then go home and feed their animal(whether cat or dog). I feed my dog wet food as well, and try to keep us all on a pretty strict schedule as I’m disabled and it’s easiest, so that means sometimes I need to leave gatherings to go home and feed him. I just don’t announce that I’m leaving to go and feed him, though people that know me very well will sometimes tease “gotta stick to the routine, huh” or “pet the dog for me” as I’m leaving. Those who don’t know me well either don’t think about why I’m leaving or can make their own assumptions.

@@NoDontLikeIt Hey my dog doesn't like dry food, should I introduce him to wet food? What are the side effects? Thanks!!
@NoDontLikeIt
@NoDontLikeIt 10 ай бұрын
@@ne9835 I’d say try it! there aren’t any side effects to wet food, the only thing is that some dogs’ poop is a little looser because the wet/canned food has a lot of moisture. My vet said just be sure to brush their teeth or give them some sort of chew stick(dental type chew sticks are good) to help scrape off the teeth, just like eating a dry kibble does, every few days. Do you know why your dog doesn’t like the dry kibble? Like does it find it hard to crunch or you think it’s just boring to them? Because you might also think about adding a food topper (most god brands of food have them), either a gravy type topper or a granule one and see if that works to peak their interest in the food. If they don’t like crunching the kibble, you can soak it in hot water for a few minutes until the pieces soften-this is often done for puppies (though it’s soaked until it’s mush) or soaked not as long until just slightly softened for senior dogs. I hope this gives you some ideas. :)

I’m stoked you started this channel! I’ve followed you on IG for a while because I love your beautiful animals and pictures, but mostly because raw feeding among cats (and ferrets!) is super underrepresented currently. I have three dogs, three cats, and various other animals (mostly reptiles), all raw fed. I love raw feeding dog accounts and channels but have been starving for a source that sets a good example in raw feeding cats. I adore ferrets and would love to have a pair one day if we’re able, so I love videos showcasing them too, especially as I read it can be so hard to transition them to raw after they’ve gotten used to kibble. Anyway keep up the awesome work! Your vids are so well done, thanks for making the raw feeding community look good 😌 🐕🐈

I add vitamin e oil, dry kelp powder, Greek yogurt, steamed, puréed, then frozen kale and also pumpkin/carrot popsicles then a frozen silverside or chunk of frozen mackerel. @@kelseywhitaker6565 one problem may be the vet they’re using (Banfield at PetSmart). A lot of breeders I know won’t honor the contracts they have with clients because Banfield vets overcharge and/or misdiagnose a lot. One lady I know bought a dog, her first, and took it to Banfield. They told her there were several things wrong with the dog, that it needed surgery, etc. She was frantic and called the breeder she got the dog from. The breeder said she’d pay for a second opinion from any other vet, and then paid for a third opinion just to ease the lady’s mind-both non-Banfield vets said the dog fine, while it did have a slight hernia, it didn’t need surgery and the other things Banfield “diagnosed” were nonexistent. If the lady had not called her breeder, she would’ve paid thousands and put her dog through unnecessary procedures.

What really grinds my gears is that dogs are not respected when it comes to their needs. If you can't 'afford' or make time to feed them a species appropriate diet then don't have one. Get an animal that you can afford to feed correctly. Like I really love crocs but I'm not going to buy one because I can't afford to feed them whole pigs. People need to stop being selfish and keep animals just because they 'want' one

I watched another video by Jess CATicles (worst cat food ingredients) and in that video according to AAFCO 4D meat definition "meat and meat byproducts not directly suitable for animal food that are designated as 4D... unless processed in a manner that rids them disease-causing microorganisms prior to becoming animal feed" Meat By-Product definition "The non-rendered, clean parts, other than meat, derived from slaughtered mammals. It includes blah blah...." In your video 0:41 rendering is the first step for making kibbles so my question is if a company doesn't use 4D meat do they skip this rendering process? Since according to AAFCo non-4D by-products are non-rendered? But then how would they remove moisture from the meat in order to turn it into meat meal if they skip rendering? Same goes for wet food if they use 4D meat that means rendering should be their 1st step?

I actually found a raw diet kibble! The brand name is nature’s variety instinct the raw brand and it’s a pure raw diet kibble with no extra ingredients! And they have it for dogs and cats! (Beef version) The ingredients for dogs are: beef, beef liver, pumpkin seeds, beef spleen, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. (Rabbit version)For cats the ingredients are: rabbit (including ground rabbit bone), pork, pork liver, pumpkin seeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, rabbit liver, rabbit kidney, rabbit lung, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. And they have plenty of flavors too like beef, rabbit, pork, fish, etc… The point is I think you should definitely try this new stuff because it is amazing! The price for a small bag is about 15 dollars and the price for a large bag is about 30 dollars. .

I don't think that a raw diet is always best 1. The price 2. The lack of greens 3. It could be harmful

Actually, dogs are known to love longer on raw. It's what their MEANT TO HAVE. Raw can also have "greens". Yes, it's expensive, however, your dogs health should be first priority. 30 years of raw feeding, and NO problems, NONE. Even kibble companies have been known to add euthanized dogs to their food. The nutrients are cooked out of kibble.

Not the expensive part, if you really care about your pet you would do anything you can to make it’s life longer and healthier. If you go to a local butcher or farmer most of the time you can get off cuts for free or cheap, you can add greens. Also you can get stuff local grocery stores and Raw Feeding Miami. And if done right it’s not harmful at all. When kibble may be $20, your paying for basically your dog to develop issues and die faster. I read a study showing that dogs that eat raw can live up to 2-4 years longer. And dogs on bad food such as bad kibbles die sooner due to health issues.

@@haileywelman4073 Yeah, They need very little greens. If you think whole prey, If they would eat something like a squirrel. The "greens" the dog would get would be from whats in the squirrels tummy

@@haileywelman4073 Dogs are not Wolves. Also it might seem they live longer but that is because there are bad kibbles on the market
