Dwayne.. I just want to thank you man. I’m 20 years old and ever since I came across your channel, I was instantly hooked by the advice and talks you give your subscribers.. man you don’t know how your videos have helped me.. being a male college student and a first son of my father it definitely ain’t easy to make good decisions at the same time live a way that makes your father proud.. your videos on temper, loneliness, tough love, heartbreak and loss, and great expectations aided my lifestyle change instantly because it resonated with me to the point I started applying it to my life almost instantly. If I could meet you in this life I would give you a big hug❤️ and would almost thank you nonstop for your contributions to my being a better person. I appreciate it.

Thanks Dewayne As I laid down in bed watching your video this morning here in Australia the words drove home , I bounced out of bed with my earphones in still listening .I made some breakfast for the kids looked outside the weather is miserable and being a Sunday with nothing important to do I was tempted to just go laze back in bed . My wife is a nurse and worked night shift , so she was in bed sleeping and then I heard you say make a decision. So I did I cleaned the kitchen from last nights dishes and this morning’s breakfast, then it was done in no time , I thought why stop now , so moved on to the next job mopping the floors and as I achieved all this in under an hour I felt like I had accomplished so much for a Sunday and instantly felt better about myself. So thank you , because if you didn’t say those words I would have waisted the day in Bed . It’s now lunchtime so I guess I’ll make the Bed now that my wife is also up and about and It has put a smile on her face too .

1. Follow your heart, but not your emotions. Your heart is the basis for who you are not how you’re feeling. 2. Use your brain. Think things through thoroughly. Keep your mind active in decision making. Logic and reason must be considered. 3. Get counsel. Have humility and ask experienced people questions. Read books. Gain more knowledge from the world around you. 4. Use your experience in life. Use things you have learned and apply it or cross reference it to other subjects Bonus tip: The thing that’s most exciting about a person is the thing that will drive you crazy later if you get married.

Thank you Dwayne. Today I decided I’m going to leave my current relationship. I’ve stuck it out for a long time. We have been great together. She’s just not for me. Her beliefs are opposite of mine. Her wants and needs from life’s are not in line with mine. We want such different things. This helped me. I had already come to terms with it but this helped me feel at ease with the decision. If I stayed with her much longer there would be pressure to marry her. She’s just not for me. And that okay. Thank you.

My problem has always been action. Discerning good decisions is one thing, doing is another. I spend a lot of time fretting about the things that need doing that aren't being done, and it's like I collapse and can't do anything. Good decisions don't mean anything if you can't act on them, so the problem of being unable to act on decisions compounds with frustration. There's even something like a fear of any activity AND a fear of the silence that should come coupled to the act of not acting, a silence that is filled with numbing/cathartic dopamine kicks from the internet

The lady showed a book to her husband and said "this would be good for you to read"; he blew it of with "Aw, I already know all that stuff". My father joined the navy at age 17 to fight the Japanese. Later in life being a "Dad" was not an easy job for him. He was a tough guy and not easy one to get close to. He only shared one or two details about what he encountered on that island of Okinawa and I figured out it was a topic he did not enjoy discussing. I figured out much later in life an event like that will change who you are forever. Some things we can't change. Many we can. As a fellow now in retirement I can say we can't always make good decisions but we can keep learning from the good choices as well as the bad. The only bit of advice I can ever remember my dad offering me during some bad times was "this too shall pass". When I have been at my lowest....that small bit of advice has pulled me through.

You are teaching a master class in life on this channel. A person couldn’t find a better resource than someone such as you who has lived and paid attention to life and pass on your wisdom to anyone who will listen. Thank you for taking the time to do what you are doing here. It is very much appreciated.

You are a real life version of Clint Eastwood talking wisdom around a campfire .. I believe that's why you have a half million subscribers. There is an honesty and truth to your talks. This is very appealing to a lot people out there who are struggling and just need a little encouragement without judgement or preaching.

You know what’s funny is we for very hard on encouraging decision making with my son. Asking if this is a good decision when he’s about to do something so that he is thinking about his actions. And I also am huge on talking about “steps” doesn’t matter big or small, sometimes taking 30 tiny steps is better than taking 5 large ones, and I use the example of football, the linemen are constantly moving there feet and taking steps, it’s what they teach you. That’s how you keep moving, because if your feet stop you are done and you lose. Thank you for the amazing videos.

I have been giving in to laziness lately. This AM, I made the decision to get up at 6AM, clean my kitchen, do my laundry, walk 4 miles, visit the farmer's market. Looking forward to building from here to stick to a habit of getting moving EARLY, then getting about my day.

You are a true philosopher. Erich Fromm defined "rationality" as the marriage of logic & emotion. One without the other is by definition "irrational." Logic without emotion is a sailboat without the wind. Emotion without logic is a sailboat without a rudder. Thanks for your teachings.

I’m going through a pretty dark and rough stretch for a while now, and on top of that a little heartbreak tonight. Found this channel, subscribed 2 videos in, and this is the 3rd, already love it and already feel a little better and more peaceful, and less alone. Being a professional horseback rider for years as well gives me another respect and interest for the content. But right now, it’s just a sweet bonus. Blessings to everyone here, and thank you for this channel.

I am a 58 yr old woman, thank you for this video💕 I am in a situation with my birth Mother who abandoned me as a child and has been toxic most of her life. She is now coming towards the end of her life, I am struggling to process my emotions! I thought in my heart I have forgiven her, I guess I have but I feel sad for what could have been, I feel very vulnerable emotionally. I am asking myself what does forgiveness suppose to feel like? 💕

Dwayne I've been a bit quiet as I've watched these videos because I'm nearing that point in life where *I know better* (even if that doesn't always mean that I personally am making the best decisions lol). What I've been able to gather from your talks and your videos is that you really do know better too, and after listening to so many videos, and applying some of your wisdom in my everyday life I can confirm that much lol. Truth be told I really think you're doing something very special here, and even if your time has helped just one person pick themselves up a bit, then I'd say that's a job well done my friend. Thank you to you, Momma, and everyone else involved for taking the time to do this despite your busy schedules. You're a bit like a guiding light amidst so much chaos and everything else available to anyone person on KZfaq and elsewhere. Thanks again for being some of the good guys in this world. Oh, and being able to tell the difference between your heart, and your emotions is just unbelievably good advice. God bless you guys!

Today I made what most would consider, a tough choice. Should I shovel snow or not? (Just for reference I’m in Minnesota, practically won’t stop snowing until May at this rate) With the temperatures being above freezing, I could have just waited for it to melt. But the freezing nights would have turned it to ice and made the rest of my week a living hell. Was it wet? Was it heavy? Absolutely! But at least I can look back on my choice to be proactive on a day off, and not worry about it the rest of the week. Choices matter, and I’m glad to hear someone actually acknowledge that!

As always love the topic and the simplicity of the video. A few things worth noting though. The real purpose of waiting before making a decision is to ssk "Do I have clarity?". In my life I have found that if I do not, it is best to wait. There is something about clarity which gets rid of the need to "make a decision". There will always be resistance when I do not have clarity. But when I do, the answer often becomes so obvious, that it doesn't even feel like a decision anymore. And one way I find clarity, is by asking the simple question "What is the healthiest thing for me to do in this situation ?". Then even if the results do not particularly turn out to my liking, I do not regret the decision, because I made it on the right basis.
