Dryer not working? How do I test a dryer heating element? In this video, we show how to test a dryer heating element with a multimeter. A continuity or resistance test will determine if there is a continuous path inside the wires. Without continuity the heating element will not working, and the dryer will not heat.

Looks like a Samsung element. It's important to visually inspect them. A rare failure can happen when the wire breaks and both ends come in contact with the center plate. It will still heat and run, but the drying sensor never shuts off the dryer because it thinks the stray voltage is a wet clothing signal. You could theoretically get shocked by touching the frame and another ground because the ground plane is now the electrical return, but i have never heard of it.
