Thank you... fixed my GE dryer leaving black marks on linen... I also had brushes in between the slides that were filthy. A little brakekleen and airing out and they were relatively better. Now I have white (cheap) sheets in the dryer and we'll see what happens. I'm optimistic. Thanx again.

I order 99% of my appliance parts from GE, I have a business account with them & get great prices. I also have an account with D&L Appliances which is a Appliance & HVAC supply place. My last resort is buying online, I will use my company credit card to order something from an appliance website if it's on backorder at GE or D&L Appliance doesn't have it in stock. Just depends what it is, how fast I need it, & cost. I keep a very stocked maintenance shop though. I will have a shop tour video coming soon. Thanks for watching TP Services 👍

How about the top load washer leaving marks on clothes? Usually white streaks that show up in dark clothing that could be hard water or someone using too much powder soap?
@ApartmentMaintenance
@ApartmentMaintenance 3 жыл бұрын
Yes using to much liquid detergent or powder soap can definitely cause the white marks on your clothing, as well as using to much deodorant. Overloading the washer can cause this as well. With the clothes you have white marks on, set the washer to the hot water setting, let it fill up and add 1 cup of white vinegar after the washer fills with the hot water and wash the clothing, don't use any soap or fabric softener. This should remove any white marks on the clothing. You can also put 1 cup of white vinegar in the washer with hot water and run the washer to clean the tub incase it is from using to much soap cause the tub will have a white residue on it. With the newer high efficiency washing machine you only need alittle soap cause they don't use as much water as old washing machines. Alot of people think the more detergent they use the cleaner the clothing will get, which isn't true at all. You only need 2 teaspoons of laundry detergent to wash a load of clothing, it's the machine that cleans them not the soap. Hope that helps, Thanks for watching Jordan & Hit that thumbs up button & Subscribe 👍

I been fighting my top loader for months trying to figure out why i keep getting black marks on my clothes 🤔 i cleaned it out number of times and took the agitator out cleaned out the top and stop using fab softener, basically im at a loss any ideas 💡 if the dryer little info

@@ApartmentMaintenance video would have been better if you stated how you came to the conclusion on what made the black marks. Without that this is nothing more than an installation video. Certainly you can state your reasons in a few seconds.
@ApartmentMaintenance
@ApartmentMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
@@ronmiller7248 This answer is straight from GE: "Black marks on clothing may be the result of the collar or cuff rubbing between the dryer drum and drum slides. This may occur if the dryer drum slides are worn or a felt seal is mispositioned or defective." That still doesn't answer your question but I'll go with what the manufacturer says. I would have to guess from the rubbing of the drum on the bearing it just creates a black/brown residue & that gets on your clothes. Thanks for watching Ron & Subscribe to the channel 👍

@@ApartmentMaintenance how do you determine if it's the drum slides or the felt?
@ApartmentMaintenance
@ApartmentMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
@@rodeltuazon5672 Great question! You can inspect both & change both while you already have the dryer apart. They are both inexpensive parts & worth doing all at once. I knew that dryer needed the drum slides as I checked it out a day prior to replacing them then filmed the repair when I went back to replace the parts. Thanks for watching Rodel & Subscribe to the channel bro 👍

The Dewalt cordless screwdriver you are using looks great - especially the light. What model number is that? Thanks very much for your helpful video.
@ApartmentMaintenance
@ApartmentMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jon, it's the DeWalt 12 volt Xtreme Screwdriver. The model # is DCF601F2, it comes with 2 batteries, charger & bag. You can pick one up from Lowes, or order online. I believe they are priced between $119 to $129. Make sure you get the 12 volt screwdriver & not the drill or impact if you wanted the same exact one. I would go back with the OEM parts (2 green & 2 white). They are most likely different cuz there would be more tension/weight on the top 2 which are the green ones. Great question! Once they wear down the drum can lift off the top bearing and cause the clothes to get pinched in-between the bearing and the drum which creates the black marks on the clothing. Thanks for watching Crystal & subscribe to the channel 👍
