Today we are drywashing for some Utah Gold! I have my buddy Brad with me. We are using a Gold Buddy Drywasher from High Plains Wholesale (Previous Jobe Wholesale and no longer in production).

That’s a lot of work for $40 of gold
@GoldPanDann Жыл бұрын
It is a lot of work, but if it were easy, gold wouldn't be worth anything. :)

Seems like the dry wash is the way to go huh ?
@GoldPanDann2 жыл бұрын
Pretty much everywhere in the south and western part of the state is too dry for anything else. Occasional wet winters provide enough water to run a small sluice or recirculating highbanker. I know of someone who classifies material through screens and takes the material home to run in a highbanker. They don't quite trust that a drywasher saves all the gold, which it might not keep very fine stuff, but it sure is a lot less work than hauling buckets home!

Do you rerun the tailings as a double check
@GoldPanDann Жыл бұрын
Yes I do! It doesn't hurt to be sure. I may not run everything twice, but a majority I do, especially while I'm adjusting angle and air flow. After I hand pan I'll put all my concentrates that came out of the pan into a bucket and run it through a recirculating cleanup setup at home as well. Don't forget to detect your larger rocks too! If a nugget was on that side, most any decent detector should pick it up! (sorry bounty hunter metal detectors) Thank you for your question and watching my videos!

Your video editing skills could definitely use improvement to make this video easier to watch. Try fast forwarding, like everyone else uses (except the technologically challenged), to make your content hold your audience attention before moving on to the next video or having to watch it at 2x which is lame.
@GoldPanDann7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I do cut out a lot of stuff as it is, but I do need to trim it more to hold better attention. Thanks for watching and I'll do my best to reduce the less entertaining parts.

Are you on a club claim or BLM land?
@GoldPanDann6 ай бұрын
It is BLM, but a private claim I was granted access to. This video is not on a club claim like some of my older videos.

Why don't you drive a taxi if you want money?

I dont do it for the money. I sometimes say value for the audience. I do it to get out in the great outdoors!

I have looked at geological surveys, mining reports, books about Utah mining districts, books about prospecting in Utah, and word of mouth information from old miners. I am always looking for new information and new places to go. Thanks for your comment!
