If you don't already own a DS model (any of them) then you have every reason to pick one up. Considering you can get one locally for $40 to $50 this is by far the most bang for your buck handheld out there.
But on top of that is the roughly $20 208 in 1 ds cartridge. Loaded with all the major first-party Nintendo DS games (including all the Pokemon games) it's a tremendous value, and widely available on Amazon and eBay.
But the big thing too few people talk about in regard to the 208 in 1 is its upgradable firmware. Since it really is an Ace 3DS plus flashcard, it can easily have its firmware updated from the link below.
Just simply backup the SD card in the cartridge, then copy the files from here onto your black SD card: archive.org/de...
