To me the American Bass sounds more full and smoother. The DS18 sounds good as well but more in the upper frequencies. So not so much full range. If you pair a tweeter with the American Bass it would be perfect

Mann I’m going with one of these American bass 8inch and a DS18 ZT 6.5 with 2 tweeters in my f250. At first I was going with DS18 everything but I Love the sound I’m getting from the freaking AB. Great videos!

Funny because I just snatched up a pair of these last week for $20 out of being in desperate need of 8” speaker rings for my build. So I bought them to make them myself instead of buying them online & they actually sound pretty good IMO. They definitely get loud with power, I may keep em 🤷🏾‍♂️😂

DB Drive P8M 8C is the best midrange speaker I owned so far, but their price has climbed dramatically.

The voice in the DS18 has more presence. The voice is the hardest to reproduce and I think the voice sounds better from the DS18

Mike I have watched all of your videos. I'm finally deciding to upgrade my truck with( 6) 6.5's for my build. I feel like the orions where your favorite of all the 6.5's but I pretty sure there discontinued now because you can't find them anywhere. Both are good speakers but the American 🇺🇸 Bass has better midrange for vocals and much fuller and rich sounding yes more natural 👍👌

I have DS18 2x Pro-Gm6.4B midrange red aluminum bullet 480w max 4ohms 1.5 kapton door speakers. I have a 09 chevrolet avalanche what amplifier do you think would be good. I'm looking for nice clear sound and bass. I do have the DS18 tweeters. I have to 10 in. Subs help me out on a budget

American bass 8 inch 60$ and 110$ ds18 8 inch. In Canada for the American 6.5 is 250 plus tax and 80 shipping 🤣 the ds18 in 8 are 177 plus tax and 50 for shipping both sold individually...

@@dutchiethaboss there are alot of videos of idiots sending to much clipped power to subs, not just rockville. You do realize that there are just a handful of subs that can handle 40 hz freeair with too much power? If you know much about speakers you can tell how much power they need by looking at them. I know rockville over rates their subs , but so does kicker, fosgate, alpine, pioneer. If a sub has a small motor , small tinsel leads, small voice coil vents, weak dustcap, it dont need any more than 500 watts and it damn sure dont need to be played freeair at 40hz for 5minutes with 1000 watts. Thats just common sense.
